Services
We wanted to provide the children in Island Lake and Wauconda with the best early development and child care possible. After researching hundreds of early learning centers in northern Illinois, we compiled a list of best practices. We studied select centers that have made lasting impressions and satisfied clients nationwide.
Supports teachers as they create responsive daily routines and meaningful learning experiences for the youngest learners. Offers a rich collection of resources that help teachers put knowledge into practice and helps them foster children's learning and growth. Everything that teachers love: comprehensive, research-based curriculum that features exploration and discovery as a way of learning.
Our anti-bias statement has been developed in accordance with that of the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. This statement states that as a team of staff, we will strive to educate children of all races, religions, family, backgrounds, cultures, gender, abilities, and ethnicity with equal respect and consideration.
Our program will allow your infant to explore their world through many new learning experiences and will focus on developing their self-esteem and independence in a structured social setting. The children in our class will be given the opportunity to develop at their own pace and are offered encouragement and support in trying new things.
As infants grow into toddlers, they are busy learning new things about themselves and the world around them. In addition to introducing your toddler to plenty of songs, books and art projects, our teachers let the children lead the way, while responding to their interests in stories, songs, and play to help them grow and learn with confidence.

This place is amazing! The staff and the owner are like a second family to me and I feel so comfortable about the way they carry themselves and the rest of their team. I've worked here prior and can not say enough wonderful things about everyone there. To the curriculums taught and the field trips they take, children are safe in the care of these hard workers. If I could give 6 stars I would! Thanks everyone for a wonderful time and I will to see you all soon.

Our family loves Young Scholars! My daughter started attending when she was 1.5 yo in the toddler room 3 years ago and is now in the 4 yo room, and now my son (1 yo) also attends in the infant room. It is very clear from the entire center that the staff takes time to connect with the students and takes pride in their jobs as educators. The teachers and directors have come through and supported our family, and we are so grateful for them!
Safety is clearly a top priority for their students, from their check-in/check-out procedures, to how they have handled accidents with my daughter, and even more

I moved back to Illinois almost a year and a half and and was worried about finding my son a great school not daycare. My Son was orginally going to a different daycare which to me felt like just a babysitter. My son needs more of a schedule and curriculum. So I was driving in island lake and found Young Scholars!!! Now my son has been recently evaluated and diagnosed with Austism 3 with Speech. I can honestly say that the teachers, The Directer of Operations and the Director of Cirriculum always care about the well being of the children they ask the questions and take temperature due to the COVID

Young Scholars has been a wonderful blessing in our family's life for the 6 years our son has gone there. We have never once worried about his well being and the entire staff always has the children's best interests at heart. He is now a school aged child that attends the before and after school program and enjoys his time there with his friends and the opportunity to work on homework (with guidance from teachers, if necessary). They truly prepared him well for elementary school - in all areas - social, academic, emotional. Young Scholars is an amazing facility that is always looking to grow and

Not only has Young Scholars been a GREAT work environment for me. I have seen both my girls grow and Develop new friendships and life long social skills. When my 3yr old started at Young Scholars she was a very shy and timid girl. She now has turned into a little social butterfly and has no problem walking into new situations and making new friends. I also LOVE seeing the new things my 3yr old is learning in the preschool curriculum. And my 18mo old is developing new language everyday after having a small delay and getting back on track! I love seeing all her little art projects that she does and

Young Scholars is the best choice you can make as a parent! My kids have been long gone since and the staff is fantastic! Most who have been there since the beginning (which is something to say about Kora and how she runs the business), but I wouldn't think twice for a recommendation. Hands down tops! It's always clean, organized, fun and most of all just a great learning experience with genuine love of children. My daughter still loves to volunteer her time there on her own and then as her internship. I believe it's because of Young Scholars she wants to work with Children!! LOVE LOVE LOVE this

I was very worried about sending my son to daycare. He had not had much interaction with children his own age, and when he did, he did not get along with kids with sharing or even playing well. After a week of starting at Young Scholars, he was sharing, talking more and interacting with other children in a way that I could never have helped him with on my own. The staff is wonderful and now that he is communicating more, he loves to talk about his teachers when he comes home and his new friends. The staff is also helping my son with potty training, which is difficult in itself. He has been doing

Young Scholars has been nothing but amazing since my son has started a few years ago. Choosing where to send your kids is not an easy task, especially for a parent, however, the second I walked into Young Scholars, I knew that he would be very well taken care of. The teachers and staff are absolutely wonderful, and they take pride in what they do everyday. My son has learned so much, made so many new friends, and enjoyed every second of being here. I could not think of a better place to send my children, thank you Young Scholars!

My family loves Young Scholars and the entire staff. Everyone working there including the directors and teachers are wonderful to work with and are very caring. My son began attending Young Scholars when he was just 10 weeks old and now he is just a few months shy of turning 3 and choosing Young Scholars to care for him daily has been a blessing. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure that all the children are learning, growing, safe and cared for in every way. The center is organized, clean, well maintained, bright and welcoming.
