My name is Semehar Kahsay (affectionately known as Sam), I am originally from Ethiopia and moved to the USA many years ago. During my childhood, I loved playing with dolls' hair, which sparked my interest to become the hair stylist I am today. As a qualified Cosmetologist for over nine years, I specialize in managing curly hair, extensions, braids including but not limited to cuts and makeup.
As a stylist, I cater to every hair texture and thus use natural products that create fullness, richness and growth of my client's hair. I pay keen attention to my client's scalp, all of their other needs and wants to produce the best results. As a professional keen on my trade, I always attend an annual hair show to develop my knowledge about hair products, to be abreast of current styles, trends as well as gain educational updates.

I really like this salon! The sisters who run it are incredibly nice. For my last 2 appointments, they've been on time and treated my hair with lots of care. They also work surprisingly fast: my back-long braids took like 2-3hrs.
I'm also thankful they're so well-priced. Most of the other braiders I found on IG would've charged me the same amount I paid (or higher) but without the wash, deep condition, and blow-dry that this salon did. I'm glad they can do full-service, and I'll absolutely return here for future hairstyling/trimming/etc.

It's 2am and I am still crying over my hair cut. I came in just looking for a cut and color and they chopped off my hair and I have an ugly dye line. I said to keep the length and said to cut my hair straight across from my second longest layer, and I ended up with no hair! My fault I didn't tell them how upset I was , I didn't want to just burst into tears! I feel soo ugly! I never wanted my hair this short and don't under why or how telling her exactly where to cut and that I WANTED TO KEEP THE LENGTH meant!! I relocated to the Bay Area in early 2020 and before the move was already dreading the process of finding a new hairdresser. As you probably know, hairdressers are magical human beings and once you find a good one, you have to stick to them like glue! Called them many times. Finally Talked to them. I don’t know who I talked to but she asked me to send her a picture of what kind of braid I would like to do so she can schedule a appointment . I sent her the picture but I was avoided and didn’t get any response. So unprofessional

They will keep you safe. They are respectful, clean, efficient and professional.
It was my first time getting my hair braided and they made me very very happy!!
They aren't confident about fading the sides because they are not barbers but they are very very good when it comes to the braids.
They are good people that you can trust with your hair.

This was my first time here and I had amazing experience. Fre completed my jumbo box braids in a little under 3 hours and I couldn’t be any happier. She was very professional and nice, made an effort to talk and the time flew by with my hair. I’ll definitely be returning for my next style, I’ve shown so many people my hair.

My hair has always been a straight handful when businesses opened up the first time (around October/November) I went to another salon and they told me my hair was not straight but wavy/curly? So over quarantine I followed the curly girl method, but could not figure out why half of my hair was straight and the other half had natural beach waves!! It was a tangly mess that took an hour to barely detangle. I took myself to Sem and at first I was going to have a dry trim, but when she looked at my hair she told me it's best to cut it wet. Ladies and gents, Bello Hair Salon is back and open for business! I knew I had to see them right away and get my hair braided before I fly back to school. These ladies always do a wonderful job on my hair and I come out of each appointment feeling fresh and beautiful. They are currently seeing clients inside their salon at reduced capacity. I just started coming to Bello recently and have been very happy so far! Free has done my hair a few times and each time it turns out amazing! I get lots of compliments and people asking where I go. They have a hair supply store next door so its really convenient if you need to purchase hair. Plus, Free even goes the extra mile and goes next door with you if you're not sure what hair or how much hair to buy. My experience with Bello so far has been very positive and I highly recommend them!!

I had a wonderful first visit to Bello Hair Salon. My service was friendly and efficient. Semehar did an excellent job with shampoo, deep conditioning treatment, and blow-dry/flat iron. She also gave me an overdue trim since this was my first salon appointment since the several months of SIP. In addition, the salon is nice and clean with appropriate COVID protocols in place.

Wonderful, just wonderful. I no longer look fuzzy by the hair. Appointment mix up but all was taken care of and I know how to make my next appointment.
Let me go just deeper into the the hair...The hair washing, blow-drying, under the dryer, flat ironing (used to use ironing combs) and curling with the flat comb (used to have curling irons) was an experience that both back memories of my childhood being in the beauty shop getting my hair done. (I see that are ironing combs and curling irons in the shop).

I had not gotten my hair done it so long, so I went to my favorite stylist in town, Sam! She took good care of me and the process was so fast! (Check out my before and after photo!)
In regards to safety, they took my temperature, wiped down everything, and did my hair outdoors. Masks also were required, which was totally fine with me.
This is my go to salon and recommend it for every one!
