1 Check all smoke detectors for operation, batteries, covers, and service life. The standard life of a smoke detector is 10 years. Also, look for both the ionic and/or photoelectric operation of the smoke detectors. If your smoke detectors are not combination detectors, you may be insufficiently protected from a fire.

We decided to get a home inspection on our new home the week before closing . We chose Morris Home Inspections. Made appt with Scott within the week. He was professional , knowledgeable and extremely polite on the phone . The day of inspection Scott was prompt and very pleasant . We have had numerous home inspections we were very impressed from the start. He was extremely thorough in all areas, He found items that needed to be corrected before we closed some small and some larger. Our report was in our realtors hands in 3 hours. All items were finished before we closed. I would highly recommend

I am very pleased with Scott's inspections that he has done in the past year with this crazy real estate boom. He is very detail oriented and takes photos of every concern noted. He also takes pictures for potential home buyers about where water and gas shut off valves are. His findings include if the home is up to code or not as well. Some home inspectors can take shortcuts or skip over things that a potential buyer should know and I don't see Scott taking any short cuts whatsoever. He's the best!

Scott Campbell of Morris Home Inspetions spent an incredible amount of time in the house he inspected for us in Myrtle Beach, SC. He crawled though ever nook and cranny in the attic. He I informed me of all the issues as he was going along. I already recommended him to two friends and my agent is also recommending him.

Our experience with Morris and our inspector Scott was very positive. Buying a house from another state is very stressful and working with Scott made things so easy. Scheduling the inspection was fast and early in our due diligence period and the inspection itself was very thorough. We had results same day and the report was very easy to read and understand. So Morris home inspection is top of the line, hands down. My inspector was Scott and he was amazing, he really had a lot information and broke down to me and away that I understood. He was patient and thorough with me. The inspection report format was easy to read and I understood it completely. If you want or need a thorough inspection, choose Morris home inspection, and with my personal experience I would highly recommend to ask for Scott.

Morris did our home inspection on a home we are looking to purchase. We have bought and sold six homes. This inspection was the most thorough and professional of any we have ever had. The write up and the photos were excellent and clear. They were quick to reply to our follow up questions. I most strongly recommend them for home inspections, including sprinkler inspections.

We had a sales agreement on our home, the buyers sent Morris Home Inspections to do the inspection on our house. I was thoroughly impressed with Scott Campbell’s attention to detail, spending hours going over every inch of our home, inside and out. Although our home was only 5 years old, Scott found numerous issues, one of which was bad roofing tiles which caused water intrusion and another was a damaged roof truss. I was so impressed, I hired Morris Home Inspections to go through our new home purchase.
