Services
Dr. Garner is from the State College Area of Pennsylvania. She completed her undergraduate studies at Saint Francis University in Pennsylvania and went on to earn her veterinarian degree at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. She began working at Rainbow veterinarian Hospital in 2012, and her passion is working with large animals and emergency medicine.
We provide routine care for all large animal species. We also offer haul in appointments for emergency situations where a farm call cannot be scheduled. For our list of services provided, please see below. Please contact us at 724-743-8443 to schedule services. If your horse is going out to pasture after a long winter of hay, let your horse graze briefly to start getting his digestive tract used to the new diet.
With all the new procedures and advanced treatments for pet illnesses come greater costs, and pet parents are not always prepared to pay for pet medical care. Approximately $24.5 billion is spent annually on veterinary care in the United States. It's estimated that your pet has a 33 percent chance of becoming injured or ill each year and there is a 92 percent chance that they will need medical care at least once in their lifetime.

So happy we found this place. So professional and communication skills with the doctor and staff are EXCELLENT! Very thorough with diagnostics and treatment. We feel so lucky they are not far. I also feel that the price we paid was fair for being the middle of the night. Our pup is resting comfortably and our minds are at ease. Thank you Rainbow! ♥️ Kodak thanks you too. 🐾

I wish I didn't need to meet the amazing staff today, but I couldn't have found more caring and professional people when we needed to put our senior cat down. Called on a Sunday morning and had an emergency appointment within a couple of hours. I will definitely be recommending Rainbow to anyone I speak to. Thank you again.

They are very caring and only want to take the best care of their patients. All the staff are very patient and very friendly. I've used them for years and I've recommended them for years. The fact that they will see all my animals (including exotics) and that they are 24/7 emergency, is so convenient.

My dog Nugget went into labor on Monday. Birthed 2 of the pups fine. Started birthing the 3rd and it looked like the pup got stuck. So she stopped pushing and looked like she was resting. I googled and they said that’s normal and to just wait a bit. After the allotted time I called PVS on Camp Horne Road and explained the situation and that I was limited on funds but could make payments or could we work something out. They said no to call Rainbow Vet in Darlington. So I called and you guys were understanding, compassionate and told me to bring Nugget in and we could discuss options. You didn’t

This review is coming a little late, but I wanted to say THANK YOU to Rainbow Vet and the staff for seeing us when we had a family member with an upset tummy in August. It was a Saturday and our regular vet was not open. But Rainbow listened to our concerns and scheduled us (despite the fact that we were not a regular client) by the afternoon. Yes,… there was a wait time. BUT this is to be expected when veterinary clinics are dealing with so much right now. The point is that we were given an appointment, were treated respectfully and were given an effective treatment plan that fixed our

Everyone at Rainbow Vet was so kind and attentive and really made me feel at ease. Despite all best efforts my cat did sadly not bounce back but he lived a long and full life and the staff gave it their all. They were very compassionate and capable when the end stage came. The handwritten sympathy card was a lovely gesture and greatly appreciated. They did a very nice job with the cremation and remembrance items as well.

We brought our cat Rumble in at 3am for emergency services. Within 10 mins they knew what was wrong and had a whole game plan for his care. They saved his life. The whole team was nothing but great. We had updates every morning and evening. One day we had a video and some pictures of our guy. He's home and doing much better. Grateful for the whole staff at Rainbow

Consider going somewhere else for routine care - a prescription that we were told was a life long need for our dog can no longer be filled timely because they are 'booked out for wellness visits'. Keep in mind they were the ones that prescribed this in the first place. They said he needs to be seen again to fill the prescription...how is this possible when they are 'booked out for wellness visits'? His issue is 'dry eye' per their diagnosis - evidently they don't care if our dog no longer has a prescription to manage his long term issue, and they're willing to let his condition worsen, and lose

I called on a Sunday afternoon to report that a stray kitten I took in was having trouble with his eye. Weeping thick green fluid. He was having trouble even keeping his eye open. Him being a kitten this could progress very quickly and he could lose his eyesight. I saw this as something that needed to be dealt with quickly. I was interrupted in the middle of explaining the situation to be told that they were too busy and to call another vet in the morning. Really? Now my kittens eye is even worse and I can't get him in anywhere until tomorrow. It continues to progress. How can this place say they

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about my first visit at Rainbow Vet. My cat was extremely sick and my regular vet could not see him right away, so I called Rainbow. They got me in within hours and were so wonderful! They answered all my questions, called me twice a day with updates, were compassionate and truly cared about my cat. Dr. Swales and Kaitlyn were fabulous, along with the entire rest of the staff. Definitely recommend!!!

NEVER GO TO RAINBOW VET!!!! Read on to learn Charlie, the Boston Terrier’s story…He was attacked by a neighbor’s large breed dog broke loose and came into my yard and grabbed Charlie by the neck and tried to drag him away. He was still connected to his lead. My husband and my other dog (my pitbull) jumped into action to save him. My husband headlocked her and put his hand in her mouth to open it. He succeeded, but damage was done. Poor Charlie was terrorized and bleeding. Bailey, his big sister, was scratched up from defending him. Charlie had bite marks all around his neck. The pics are

Very nice establishment. Dr. Garner is excellent. All staff is professional, polite and respectful. It is very hard however to get access to a veterinarian however... Almost always a vet tech for most services. It is a busy hospital so to some degree this is expected, but it would be nice to see a certified veterinarian at least once annually regarding my dog. As ours is a family member I would like his doctor to give him an annual checkup and report back to us personally.
