Dr. Christine Scruggs grew up in South Windsor and East Hartford, CT and graduated from Smith College in 1991. After a five year hiatus during which she worked in the biomedical and veterinary fields (specifically canine reproduction and genetics), she went on to the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2000 as a 'VMD'.
Deep River Animal Hospital offers a full range of veterinary services including preventive care and emergency medicine. Large animal species (horses, goats, llamas, cows, etc.) are seen by our affiliate, Coastal Valley Veterinary Services, please call (860) 867-6367 to make an appointment for large animals.

They failed to properly diagnose my dog and he died 2 weeks later when I brought him somewhere else for a second opinion. Should have learned then. Went again this year and they wanted 1400 to clean a cats teeth - outrageous. Besides treating you and your pet like the covid virus is gonna jump through the car window. Get a grip. Happily going elsewhere for vet care now.

Worse place to go to if you have a large breed dog. Don’t know how to handle big dogs. The vet herself not very personable and is very snotty. My first impression of her was the last one. Would never bring my dogs back to her. Very rude and judge mental. Not very comforting or cannot ask one question without being reprimanded.
