Services
Radiographs provide internal images of your pet to help diagnose conditions that couldn't otherwise be seen. Such conditions could include a blockage or foreign body, broken or fractured bones, constipation, bloated stomach, or bladder stones. Should your pet require x-rays, our doctors are eager to share the images with you and explain their findings.
At Moosehead Trail Veterinary Hospital, we perform surgical and dental procedures four days a week, so we can usually schedule your pet within a week or two of when you call. Our most common procedures include but are not limited to: orchidectomy (neuter), ovariohysterectomy (spay), growth or mass removal, foreign body removal, quill removal, and minor orthopedic procedures.
It is very important that our furry family members be seen once or twice a year, even if they appear to be healthy. Annual wellness examinations allow a veterinarian to assess your pet's overall health and well-being. At this time any questions and/or concerns that you may have can be discussed with the doctor.
We have a complete in-house pharmacy to cover all of your pet's needs. Should you need something that we do not carry, we will do our best to find it for you, whether we need to order it in or order it elsewhere. Our online pharmacy makes it even easier to get the medication you pet needs, delivered right to your door.
Our laboratory equipment can provide diagnostic readings to help us understand and treat your pet's condition(s). Our LaserCyte is used for determining red and white blood cell counts, including the breakdown of each. Our catalyst provides chemistry panels, which shows the function of organs such as the liver, kidneys, pancreas and blood glucose.

I switched a couple years ago from a previous vets office (way to over booked/crowded and so little time spent in the room with me and my animals) I knew Moosehead was a little bit more money wise, but it has been SOOOOO WORTH IT !! Best decision I've made! I adopted my dog Charley from NFR Maine and not even 4 months later I had to rush him up there and he had to have stitches in his pad of his paw and to keep it wrapped with a boot. It was so traumatizing for me (first dog owner) and I could not of had any better care for not only myself, all my questions were thoroughly explained and I've never

If there was a six star option that’s the button I would have pressed-
Since the year 2020 has been mostly a mess I didn’t expect things to go very smoothly when bringing 10 six week old great Dane pups to see… the vet- Dr. Larkin’s staff came right out to the vehicle and took in a small batch at a time, and were friendly and accommodating. They were in the parking lot picking up my pups by hand at 1:27 PM for a 1:30 PM appointment- I really appreciated that we didn’t have to wait. After everything was over and all the pups were returned to our car the vet came out
