Like the rest of the world, we are currently short-staffed and continue to be exceptionally busy. Please be aware this could mean longer wait times for things such as appointment availability, phone/call back times, etc. We are incredibly grateful for your patience and kindness during this time. Additionally; for the time being, we will be unable to perform nail trim technician appointments.

We will also be closed for Saturdays during the month of October due to the staff shortage. We will keep everyone updated with any changes for the above. Broadway Veterinary Clinic has been proudly serving the Bangor, Maine community for almost four decades. We treat dogs, cats, and other small mammals such as gerbils, guinea pigs, and ferrets, with the utmost care and concern.
Services
At Broadway Veterinary Clinic, you'll find a family with our exceptional doctors and staff who are passionate in providing veterinary care to your beloved pets. Dr. John Benson received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland in 1973 and went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Georgia in 1979.
Broadway Veterinary Clinic is one of the most trusted veterinarians in the area, and to understand why, it's worth having a look at the history of our hospital and the care we've been providing pets for years. Broadway Veterinary Clinic has been serving the Bangor, Maine area since the year 1980, when Dr. J.A. Benson acquired Elliot Animal Hospital and gave the facility a new name.
Broadway Veterinary Clinic is a full-service vet clinic that offers everything from diagnostic care and wellness examinations to spay/neuter procedures, surgery, and much, much more. Here's a rundown of the services we offer for pets and their owners. Located off of Highway 95, just 3 miles from Bangor International Airport and 1.5 miles from Husson University.
Preventative care is designed to keep your pet healthy and happy before serious health issues can develop. It starts with wellness exams and vaccinations as well as a range of other preventative services, such as parasite prevention and nutrition/weight management. Regular wellness exams are an important tool in maximizing your pet's overall health.
When something is wrong with your pet, the first step is identifying the source of the problem. When you bring your pet in for a sick visit, we'll combine the information you provide with a full examination of your pet (sometimes supported by radiology or lab work) to identify what's wrong and move toward an effective treatment plan.

I was not able to get my dog seen until mid November. I was nervous because she has a lump on her side so I panicked thinking it would still be while before I could get her in. They called me the next day and was able ti get her in that week. They are all professional and so nice. Bella absolutely loves everyone who helped her.

Quality of care and quality of staff has gone down over the years. Covid has only made this worse. Tried bringing my cat in for his yearly check up and they ignored 90% of my concerns and I wasn’t allowed in the building for the appointment. They refused to give me a written prescription for his food and said “they would just send it to the pharmacy of my choosing, when I ordered his food. 1. The prescription they gave the pharmacy was for dry food which my cat can not eat 2. The wet food he does need is still pending approval.
Overall, they need to get their clinic back in order. The service

The overpriced service that I was provided over the years wasn’t terrible but when our beloved Lucy was at the end of her road they couldn’t be bothered to help. We showed up 30 minutes prior closing with a pet and owner in obvious pain to have an assessment and likely euthanasia, they told me they couldn’t help. We had been there for 13 years and brought Lucy there for everything. In our time of ultimate need, Broadway Vet didn’t care.

I brought my cat to be spayed here in 2019. Everything went well and didn't have any complications. The prices are way more reasonable here than any other vet's I've been to, plus you can get a voucher from the humane society to help with the cost of the surgery.

Dr. Carter is one of the best vets I know. She genuinely cares about my pets an about me as well. I followed her to Broadway Vet from her previous clinic, and I’m glad I did because this clinic is a clean, good quality, good value clinic that always takes care of the needs of my pets.

It was a great experience even during these covid times. Prompt service. The doctor called to discuss my pet's needs while I was in the parking lot.

Dr. Edelman was wonderful with both of my dogs. He was friendly and kind to both my dogs as well as myself. He explained things in easy to understand terms. He took his time to make sure all my questions were answered. He did well in outlining cost effective options. I felt that my girls were in good and capable hands!
