This was my first time using Sentry Home Inspections. Our inspector was Tim Bills. He was punctual and extremely thorough. He found a lot of items I would never have thought were issues. He broke down the issues between minor and major. He was also able to get the report back to us that same night. In addition, Tim was able to spot mold which the owner hadn't known about. He took a sample and had it sent off for verification. It came back as being mold, and the owner agreed to pay for the mold remediation. Tim was extremely thorough and went over all the bullets with me after his inspection. His report was very detailed and I was able to hand it off to all my contractors, HVAC, electric and plumbing contacts for them to easily get an idea of what to expect before they arrive. When I had trouble finding the main water shut off valve, he even offered to come by during the day to use a thermal camera in case the previous owners had walled it up but luckily it was in a "hidden" cabinet in the basement.

Sentry Home Inspections conducted an inspection on my new condo on 3/13/17 and the experience could not have been better. The inspector, Tim, was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and above all thorough.
The condo is 1540 square feet and Tim was there for two and a half hours going over everything with a fine tooth comb. He answered all of my questions and really helped me understand the new systems in my condo.
The report Sentry sent over was detailed and easy to understand. I cannot recommend them more highly.

I am working on an upcoming condo renovation project and naturally thought to reach out to Sentry for their services. I reached out to Sentry and corresponded with Kristine via email. On the 12th I requested an appointment for the 14th. I received emails requesting that I fill out an agreement for the inspection and a pre-inspection questionnaire. Later that day my team received word that the rowhome is currently not accessible in all areas for the inspection. Given that I never filled out the agreement and pre-inspection information, I sent an email to cancel the appointment before signing their

I was very impressed with the thoroughness of Tim Bills' work. The report he prepared could not be more detailed or helpful. I think he identified a number of subtle issues, some of which were very important regarding fundamental safety issues. I have a good standard to compare because I received a copy of the report conducted by the purchasers of our existing home; Sentry Home Inspections report was more detailed, comprehensive, and helpful.

I have used Sentry twice for home inspections in purchasing a home. They are very knowledgeable and thorough. The home inspection comes with detailed photos of each item and is perfect to review what remedies are needed and relay that to the seller.
Most recently, Lou provided a home inspection on an older home that was flipped by a developer. While aesthetically the house was beautiful to my eye, Lou was able to find where they had cut lots of corners and determine that workmanship was extremely poor. When we presented Sentry's report, the developer requested to be let out of the contract

Tim Bills recently did a very thorough inspection for an older home I am purchasing on the hill. He exceeded his services and took time to explain to me what caused certain issues and the different services needed to upkeep an older home. Rudest receptionist I've ever experienced in my life - and I've spoken to many receptionists!
She was terrible at providing info to me, scheduled an appointment without my knowledge and then, 22 hours before my appointment, told me I needed to cancel 24 hours in advance. Just a generally frustrating experience. I'd avoid at all cost.

I've had two really great experiences with Isaac. He was prompt, courteous, and willing to let me ask him every question I could think of while he inspected. In the first home, he found a questionable problem and recommended we get another opinion (we opted to cancel the contract due to the nature of the problem) and in the second he identified a few small problems but provided a good sense of their severity and ideas for remediation. I highly recommend him.

Do not listen to the review above, must have been from an employee. I had Issac, while a nice guy, he does not do a good job. They do a cursory visual inspection only- so if you want to throw 600.00 dollars down the drain for a visual then use them. Update: In addition to my dryer vent issue, my electric panel had rust on it from electric lines coming into the house that were not sealed. So rain water was running down the lines into the box- Fire Hazard #2 that Issac did not catch- sadly the carpet installer caught it. Stay away from SENTRY
