Clara Washington, founder of Clara's Little Lambs Preschool Academy, always dreamed of starting her own childcare facility. Born Clara Lamb, Clara's teenage years were spent taking care of children, but the business world swept her away for 23 years before she was finally able to fulfill her life-long dream.
In 1987, Clara was able to start a her first very small day care, which eventually grew to three very small locations. In the year 2000, Clara's Little Lambs Preschool Academy was able to move to one large building as it is today, accommodating 300 children.

Services
The school is committed to providing a safe and healthy learning environment. The environment is designed to stimulate a child's physical, cognitive, creative and emotional development. We focus on helping children learn through communication. Our staff is trained to support social and emotional development and to provide positive guidance.
Teachers use The Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers and Two's, a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate curriculum, to guide them in setting up the environment, daily routines and activities each week. Teachers write up weekly lesson plans for each child. If a child has a disability, then the IFSP/IEP goals and strategies are also considered when planning.
Our new location in Federal City is now open and proudly serving our Military men and women as well as non-military families. We are committed to providing the same level of quality and care as we do at our current location. All teachers are certified in Early Care and Education. We provide three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and a snack).

If I could give them a zero, I would. This daycare used to be of great quality. My 15-year old attended so I’ve known them for some time. Everything has changed. Their new overseer Jodie should not be the face of the business whatsoever. She does not care about those kids AT ALL. I have seen way too many new faces in too short of a time, which was beginning to be very questionable. The kids learn ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. If your kids being enriched is as important to you as it is to me, this is not the place to send them. Jodie has a way of doing things that I’m sure will eventually get her beat

My family and I expect the team members at clara's to always provide courteous and professional service, and we're disappointed since that was not our experience. Please retrain all managers, owners and teachers to be friendly and to lose the attitude. To greet customers and not treat us like we are begging instead of paying for this childcare where they rough the children up.
