Willits Veterinary Hospital is a full-service hospital serving the community in the Roaring Fork Valley since 2012. Owner, John Kuck, DVM and wife Kristen Kuck, CVT started out as a family business which has now grown into a multi doctor practice with a full nursing and administrative staff. The year of 2019 brought continued growth with the opening of a new hospital location in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

Willits Veterinary Hospital is a modern, state of the art facility offering affordable, high quality and comprehensive medical and surgical care for companion animals. We are conveniently located in the Willits Town Center of Basalt, Colorado. Our caring staff of Certified Veterinary Technicians ensures your companions are in the hands of qualified professionals trained in the latest techniques and treatments for the pets in our area.
Whether you are a worry wart or simply coming in for an annual exam, rest assured that your companion will be treated gently and examined thoroughly for common maladies particular to his or her individual species, sex, age, breed and geographic locale. Recommendations from our doctors are restricted to only those tests you and the staff agree are in the the best interests of your pet.
The key to recovery is effective diagnosis. One of the most important components of a solid diagnosis is often diagnostic imaging technology. The cornerstone of the diagnostic imaging suite at Willits Veterinary Hospital is the ClearVet DR9 digital radiography system. Providing unparalleled soft tissue and skeletal detail not possible just a few years ago, the DR9 has the ability to reveal subtle lesions missed by older technologies.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability
Waited on hold the phone for 16 minutes, transferred twice, only to find out no appointments at all for 2 weeks. Also tried scheduling vaccinations for 3 months from now - but they said can't do that either due to "scheduling changes". Used to be such a great vet. Not sure now...

We made an appointment with one doctor and were seen by another one who had just a few months of experience, We specifically asked that our puppy receives only the two core vaccines and found out, after the fact that the shot was a combination of four vaccines. Finally the veterinary recommended a anti fungal medication for some yeast infection in one ear. We agreed to it, but found out after the fact that this drug contained also an antibiotic and a steroid. So the scheduling was a mess, and the treatment was made with misleading information. We will not return.

Our dog had a problem with a ear that kept her up and us almost every night. We looked online and found Willits Veterinarian. My wife called and they were able to get our dog in to be seen the next day. We were anticipating a fairly heavy price tag to be seen so quickly and on a Saturday. Front staff was nice and helpful, the office was very clean and presents very well. We were able to see the vet, he spent as much time answering our questions and looking over our dog. When we left expecting a heavy price it was not to be. We were extremely pleased with the entire experience from end to end and

We can't recommend Willits Vet enough. They are an amazing community vet and every single person we've ever interacted with there is 5 stars - from the front desk to the nursing staff and the vets as well. Today, we had a scare with our pup who we thought ate an iPhone cable. Dr. Doug fit us right in, examined our dog carefully, and made us all feel great/reassured in the process. It's really a wonderful vet, and we plan to be long term patients.

We had an unexpected and urgent visit... One of our dogs was cut open going through a metal gate at the beginning of a hiking trail! They were one of the few places open late on a Saturday, and were able to see us immediately. Everyone was great to interact with and the bill was affordable. We have been to the Glenwood office and I'm glad to know this is a great option as well. Thank you for all you did!

My dog Murphy got sick while we were on vacation in Aspen. The Aspen Animal Hospital was overbooked and suggest I try here. They were able to get me right in with one of the “emergency” appointments they reserve. We were in and out and saw Jen and Dr. Katie who were both so helpful and nice. Murphy got quick blood work, fluids and some medicine and we were on our way. He was better right away and they even called the next day to check on him. I found the price to be reasonable and I was really impressed with this vet. Thank you Dr. Katie and Jen!

Our experience has been so outstanding every time we’ve brought our dog Kai in. Thoughtful, timely, caring, professional... An example: Kai had a lump removed from her eye and a few days later a slight infection developed. John her veterinarian was off and but I sent pictures to the Vet tech, she forwarded them to John (on his day off). Heard back within 10 minutes, prescription for antibiotics was already filled for her! They really care about the well being of the animals. Highly recommend.

I just don't even know where to begin with my praises of this outstanding vet clinic. I have been taking our puppy here for a year and recently had to bring him in for emergency surgery. Every single person from the reception desk to the vet techs to the vets themselves were caring and loving to our pup (and he is a challenge). That has been my experience every single time! They are always extremely busy but they never get flustered and never make you feel like you are just another customer. Dr. Kuck and his staff are amazing! They really care about our dogs. They are compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. Our dogs love him! He performed surgery on our chocolate lab to remove a cancerous tumor. Her incision was small and she only needed pain meds for a few days. I highly recommend Dr. Kuck and this clinic!!
