While the estate jewelry that this shop carries is among the best in the Bay Area, the service leaves much to be desired, especially when you're spending serious money for pieces here.
Their appraisals for pieces being purchased are sub-par, and sometimes require updating, for which a hefty fee is charged.
Their knowledge of the jewelry making process is also wanting; when they describe what's involved in the piece being considered, they give erroneous information to encourage the sale.
Furthermore, they charge exorbitant prices for repairs to pieces purchased here, so caveat emptor

I have shopped with Meriwether for many years. The pieces that people always ask me about invariably come from Meriwether's. She has an exceptional eye for COOL things. She also is incredibly knowledgeable and only carries really good things - so you NEVER have to worry you are getting something that is not top quality. Meriwether's will always stand behind your purchase. Meriwether has made custom pieces as well and they are all knock out! Her attention to detail on custom items is amazing. I have also sold things I was "finished" with through Meriwether and felt that

I was looking for cool cufflinks for my dad's birthday.. searched the whole city. Nowhere had a better selection of high end cufflinks than Meriwether. I bought him a pair of reversed painted crystal with a naked lady, a glass of bourbon, cards and horses. They carry estate (older, period pieces) and new jewelry, and have an entire case of cufflinks in the back of the store. The women's jewelry is really nice as well. They have lots of pieces from the 30s and 40s too. Lots of gold earrings, antique engagement rings and fun new stuff. Girls who worked there were nice, not pushy and they

If you have a lot of money burning a hole in your pocket, this is the place for you. Ms. Weriwether recently opened her retail establishment. Until this time, she sold strictly to her known clientele. She has lots of estate jewellery, some unusual pieces, everything beyond most girl's budgets. It's still fun to look, and who knows, you might end up buying something!
