You will spend a large amount of "one-on-one" time with an exceptional physical therapist each and every time that you visit us. We book a solid hour appointment for your evaluation, and we will make sure that every aspect of your rehabilitation is dealt with in the same manner for all follow up visits.
We do not employ support staff. Too many rehabilitation clinics rely upon aides or assistants to provide patient supervision and treatment. In our setting, you will not be herded from exercise to exercise by an under-educated staff member. Instead, your treatment will involve "hands on" manual therapy in conjunction with specific exercises tailored to your needs.

Our therapists on average have over twelve (12) years of full-time outpatient orthopedic experience. To better serve you, our physical therapists have varying areas of interest and specialization.
We are thrilled to send our post-physical therapy patients to Medical Exercise Trainers next door! These trainers are specifically trained and certified to deal with clients who need special attention and consideration due to previous injuries or conditions. This type of training is not for the weak of mind, or body.
Below are some products we recommend to our patients. These products link directly to where you can purchase the product on Amazon.com. In the event you find a link which no longer works or a product which is no longer offered, please let us know. Great for ankle stabilization training! Use it for single leg balance, air squats, or as a way to cushion your knees while performing exercises in a kneeling position.
In this episode, we will hear about how Kira convinced Dan to join a home based 30 day yoga journey with her, why she roped him into it, and Dan's thoughts on yoga. In this episode, Josh Ripp and Kira Davis are going to dive a little deeper into busting some PT/ exercise myths. They will discuss matters such as if it's possible to get immediate strength or muscle gains, elevation training, and the fears that running is the cause for arthritis.

Kira's electric dry needling has resolved my IT band / leg muscle issues and allowed me to avoid surgery. It's life changing. And for only $50 out of pocket for a session that lasts me relief for months. So worth it. It's not a painful treatment, in case you're nervous - only weird feeling. And it's completely different than a massage or acupuncture - so if those haven't worked for you, try this. It's very difficult to find an expert in electric dry needling (as opposed to plain dry needling), but the electric stimulation provides incredible relief and resets

I had a great experience with Physio DC. My therapist, Chris Cousins, began treating me for a back problem and then helped identify another problem that had not been diagnosed. Once it was confirmed, he went to work on that. I "graduated" from physical therapy earlier this wee, pain free for the first time in months (helped of course by a series of injections, but still . . . .). I have a good home program and would happily return should I need to (but hope I don't have to).

Outstanding place for physical therapy! I worked with Christina as my Physical therapist for four months after breaking my leg, and I could not have asked for a better experience. The exercises were designed and progressed in a way that helped me regain my strength, form, and range of motion, and I genuinely looked forward to going to PT each time. All of the staff and PTs were so helpful and friendly, Christina especially. PhysioDC has also done a great job adapting to COVID, and I always felt very safe going in-person. Highly recommend if you ever need physical therapy.

I've seen two physical therapists here. The low rating is for the first therapist and the billing department. The first therapist, while otherwise professional and effective, made some extremely inappropriate, sexually suggestive jokes while he was treating me. I emailed him to complain and he apologized, but it was truly offensive. When my insurance wouldn't accept another provider, I returned to see a second therapist, who was less experienced but fine. What prompted this review was the billing experience, quite possibly the worst medical billing experience of my life, which is

Professionals who actually care about your recovery. I was very nervous that I’d never have full capability after Achilles heel surgery. Josh Ripp worked with me and I’m back 100%. Not all therapy practices are alike- despite what my surgeon said. Some just check the boxes and you’re just another lump of meat with a co pay. PhysioDC takes the time to listen and care unlike any others. Full credit to Josh and company for my recovery.

I worked with Dan the hand/wrist specialist for my over-use pain from excessive computer usage at work. He was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and practical. Importantly, he was also accommodating and flexible when I had messed up a time for my appointment and came 6 hours later. He could have advised me to reschedule and pay for my missed appointment, but he kindly agreed to work me in, meaning he left his work day much later than expected.
Shout out to the office manager/scheduler staff as well, who was always friendly and efficient.
Strongly recommend this group, particularly given

I went to Dan Baumstark because of posterior tibial tendonitis, which I had been unable to get rid of, and he was terrific. I found him due to the great reviews on Yelp and thought I would add mine to the chorus.
Dan showed me the exercises I needed and taught me how to do them on my own. After the injury no longer bothered me, which was much faster than I ever imagined, he said that I no longer needed any more sessions. He encouraged me to continue the exercises on my own and to slowly add in weight training for its general health benefits.
I've been to other PTs, and few are this outstanding

Ashley O'Neill is THE Doctor you need!
I came to Physio after Neck (Spinal) Surgery. Ashley started a perfectly designed program for me to repair, strengthen, and fully recover. Not only is she amazing in her field but she also brings a sunny spirit to her work. She clearly loves helping and encouraging you. I worked with her twice a week for a month.
The Front Office is very friendly and highly proficient. The whole atmosphere in PhysioDC is professional, organized, and cheerful.

Kira took care of me for 9 months after my ruptured Achilles surgery. This was my first time with physical therapy in my life and I don't have any reference point but I was very happy with Kira's help and instructions. The staff is all friendly and I enjoyed going there for my therapy. The location is convenient and they open from early in the morning until evening to accommodate various schedule.

I've been going to PhysioDC for about 2 years for neck and back 'issues' and was referred to them by my old PCP. I was nervous about the experience but the whole process from the commute to treatment was just amazing.
First off, the office is about a 10 foot walk from the Farragut North metro station. Secondly, the staff are all very friendly, from their admin, Dyson, to the other PT's. Dan is quite the character, hilarious and professional and has magic hands. Within a few weeks, my trapezius muscles were looser than they have been in 10+ years. He was happy to answer questions

I cannot stress enough how great the therapists at PhysioDC are! Dan was especially awesome and I highly recommend him and the rest of his team to anyone in need of physical therapy. They genuinely care about getting you back on your feet / in the swing of things (depending on your injury!) in a safe yet efficient manner. Do yourself a favor and go here!

I finally made an appointment here b/c the reviews are so great. But I have to say I have been turned off several times now by the poor table manners of the guy who answers the phones. He's not only been very rude to me over the telephone, but I've also heard over the telephone how he speaks to people who walk in. Posting in case PhysioDC cares to do something about their customer service: a shame for people to turn away b/c their first contact is so poor (especially since the therapists seem to be such top notch).

Was referred here for dry needling. Very painful process which I wasn’t prepared for initially, but it has made a pretty big difference for my lower back issues. Definitely not for everyone. I’ve also seen Daniel for regular PT and strengthening exercises and would recommend seeing him if you go with this practice.

No one is happy to go to physical therapy- it means something is wrong, and work has to be actively done to recover. With that said, my begrudging attendance at physical therapy is not so bad here because I know my PT is focused on helping my physical issues improve. I have worked with Kira while attending sessions, and she is always guiding me to do the best exercises for my post-surgeries' ailments and weaknesses. It's always the little exercises done the right way that make a world of difference. As time has passed, she has only encouraged me to push a little harder every time.

I have the misfortune of being a recreational adult athlete who is more or less chronically injured. The good news is that I found Chris Cousins at PhysioDC in 2013. He has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to identify and treat the root causes of my various injuries. And, perhaps more importantly, Chris deserves a lot of credit for preventing me from going insane. His kindness, quirky sense of humor, and ability to make me feel good about myself while healing from a demoralizing injury has done wonders for my general well-being.

When I found out in December of 2016, that I needed shoulder surgery, I knew exactly who I was going to call to be in charge of my post-surgery physical therapy--Chris Cousins at Physio DC! I had worked with him back in 2013 for about six months during which time he not only helped me heal neck-related nerve pain but he established a level of trust and rapport with me that I had not experienced with other practitioners in the health field.
I began PT a week after shoulder surgery in January of 2017 and as anybody who has had shoulder surgery can attest to, it was going to be a long journey to

This is by far the best Physical Therapy group I have found around the city. The therapists are top notch and you receive 1st class treatment. No techs, interns, noobs; you get a great, real life PT for a full session. I have rehabbed a serious spinal injury here and have nothing but great things to say about the administration and therapists. Just let them know what type of injury you are working with and they will find the right therapist for your needs. A++

They get you in for your appointment within 5-10 minutes if arriving. The therapists here are very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to the patients. The facility has decent space. Based on my 2 visits this far, there are usually anywhere from 4-7 patients in at once, but I never feel like it's cramped or crowded.

I've been working with this practice for over 3 years, and every time I injure myself they are there to fix me up! All of them are top physical therapy professionals who know their stuff, care about you and will get you back on your game again. They take the time to listen and to explain - they each have their specialties but I would fully trust any of them. The office administration is well run, location is convenient - they are the best!

I worked with Ashley at PhysioDC for PT and needling. She is friendly, patient, and takes the time to answer all of your questions. I went to a different PT office previously, and I wish I had gone to Ashley from the start. She helped to correct my form (for PT exercises I'd been doing for months!) and really provides individualized services. Other PT offices can get very crowded, and as a result, you're mostly working with a tech. I've never worked with a tech at Physio.

I've been using PhysioDC for about a year now, and they're fantastic. I started seeing Ashley to deal with some overuse injuries related to competitive weightlifting. We were able to resolve everything pretty quickly, and I continue to see her about once a month for dry needling whenever something is chronically tight or bothersome. She's the real deal - I've had dry needling from several other PTs, and her work is miles above them. Whatever issues I'm having are resolved within 1-2 sessions, and she's able to needle areas that others shy away from (e.g. hand and forearm

I'm thankful to the previous Yelp reviews, which influenced my decision to select PhysioDC for my physical therapy (PT) needs. I'm paying it forward by leaving a review of my own. I fractured my left humerus and dislocated my elbow November 2015, as a result of a fall at my workplace in Maryland. After I had my fixator removed in January 2016, in addition to an inability to bend my elbow above my waist, I had some trauma to my wrist and hand. Specifically, I could not turn my wrist upwards or bend my fingers. So, my orthopedic physician prescribed PT 2-3 times per week for me.

I see Ashley Speights and she is amazing amazing amazing. I strained my achilles and then kept running on it (not smart, I now know) and after months of pain and trying out a different PT that didn't seem to be helping, I started going to PhysioDC a couple of weeks ago. After only 3 sessions so far with Ashley, I already see a huge difference. Today, for the first time, she was able to do some work on the achilles without me feeling any pain, which is a huge revelation and gamechanger. I know we're on track to getting it fully recovered soon, and it's the first time I've felt

I came to PhysioDC after a poor experience at another DC PT place. I explained my situation and how frustrated I felt due to lack of progress and healing with my previous physical therapist. I was with Ashley every session, she made me feel like a priority and seemed to be truly invested in my recovery.
She gave me all new stretches, work outs and solutions to help aid my injury. She was extremely knowledgable and always was able to explain the WHY of whatever she was having me do. She also was a great listener, something hard to come by in a big city! Additionally, she worked around my work
