Two people, blessed with an eye for beauty, Tyrone Alexander Garcia and his wife Stephany Garcia opened Ty Alexander Salon in Newport Beach. With decades of experience between the two of them, Tyrone and Stephany opened up their own Salon after working for Jos'e Eber and Vidal Sassoon.

After a bad experience with another stylist at a different salon, Dominique came highly recommended by an acquaintance. I found her in Instagram, checked out her work and reached out to to her to schedule an appointment for a color correction.
I arrived to Ty Alexander on my scheduled date, and met with Dominique. We talked about what I was hoping to achieve without damaging my hair further. I left the salon happy with the results.

I sent my 15 YO doughier to Ty Alexander salon to get a haircut. She was excited to get curtain bangs and a trim to get rid of the split ends. When I picked her up I was surprised to see she had really short bangs above her eyebrows and all the split ends were remaining. So I took her back. Rosi the stylist not only did not acknowledge her mistakes , she rudely said we should come back the next day to talk to the manager. I was beyond disappointed. And by the way she had given herself a 20% tip for a total of $120!!!! My doughier is in tears and I can't believe this level of unprofessional

I've done my research on hair salons and decided to give this salon a try, and when I tell you I came out with a big smile on my face is an understatement! Rosy made my hair go from botched to snatched in a matter of a couple hours! She gave me balayage, hair extensions, and haircut, none the less made me feel so welcomed to the salon! Everyone here is so welcoming especially the Front Desk Receptionist! I had a nice conversation with the stylist next to us. Overall, super sweet salon place is clean and bright love it thank you so much Rosy!!

This is my second session with Hannah, and I decided to go lighter. As an Asian with naturally dark hair, I was NOT going to risk going to anyone else but Hannah. My first session hair grew out so beautifully, and it still looked good when I came in today. I just knew I wouldn't be in town until much later, so I came back way sooner than expected.
I initially wanted a fashion color which would have costed more, but I am leaving town and won't be able to upkeep it. She genuinely recommend not to do it because she didn't want me to be stuck without a salon in the chance it

This salon is SUPER COOL!! Kinda hidden down below, so go down to the bottom level in the center of Building 230. They have a little shop now with alot of really nice gifts/home and beauty items, including Gigi Pip hats!! Everyone is really nice in there! I LOVE Stephany, my cut was REALLY good, and I am kinda particular haha. They do ALOT of extensions there as well! I highly recommend this Salon, take it from a picky patron!!! ;D

Thank you, Kim! I was a little nervous because of the density of jungle on my head she had to cut through, and it was my first time working with her. My last haircut was in February and I have thick hair. I am so happy my friend recommended her! Kim’s attention to detail and experience are clearly evident the moment she gets to work. I’m from the east coast and will fly out for my next haircut from only the best, Kim.

I've been going to Brent Raisor for a few years now and he is amazing. He has an excellent eye for what will look good and knows exactly what to do to give my hair a refresh and leave me feeling like a hair model. Brent even did my hair for my recent wedding, as well as my mom and both maids of honor, and everyone looked fantastic. I got so many compliments on how he styled it. Brent is excellent with both cut and color, as well as styling. He's the best!!!!

Hunger is the best! I have brown hair and wanted blond highlights that would grow out naturally and he did the absolute best color job I've ever had. It came out even better than what I was hoping for actually. I'm thrilled ;-). I've been looking for the right hairdresser for two+ years now and am so happy to have found a keeper.

I booked online and chose a stylist through their website. When I got there I said I wanted highlights and a cut. She put foils in my hair and cut and styled it and it looked fine. When I got home I looked closer at my hair and noticed that if I moved my hair from how she styled it then I could see a that the highlights were about two inches away from my scalp so when I put my hair up it is very obvious that my highlights look like they had grown out for a few months.
Two hours after I left the salon I got a call and they told me that they had undercharged me and that I owed them another $50.

Every hair stylist hates to hear this but I haven't gotten a haircut for over a year and it was long overdue. My friend recommended Brian Aguilar since he's been cutting her hair for many years. I stalked his Instagram page and is drawn to all of the effortless hair pics that he posts. He strictly specializes in haircuts so I was curious to see what he could do.

So much talent in each and every stylist, my go to girl is Hannah Whitney. She does my color perfectly every time and when I'm due for my Brazilian Blowout she has the process down. She genuinely cares about each of her Clients. She's dependable, affordable and absolutely beautiful. The Salon is bright, clean and they make you feel welcome.

Just had my hair colored by Brent Raisor. I love it. He always does an amazing job. Never uses too much product and only cuts my hair when needed. He has lots of great advice for keeping my hair healthy and the lowdown on the latest products. The salon is nice. Comfy chairs. Wi-fi available. Friendly staff. Fast service. Fair price. They text you your appointment with a link to add to your calendar.

I went to another hairstylist at a different salon who completely destroyed my hair. She took off 6 inches when I had asked for only 3, gave me blunt front bangs when I had asked for side fringe, AND my cut was completely uneven. I was crying when I left the salon.
Brian was recommended by a friend and he seriously saved my hair. He was so kind and took his time to discuss exactly what I wanted and before each step he asked how I felt about his idea. I think he could tell I was traumatized. He really minimized how much he needed to take off

Hannah Whitney is by far the most skilled, meticulous and talented colorist at this salon. My Mom and I have been going to her for years for our blonde hair and we are constantly stopped and asked who does it. Not only is she talented with color but she is the fastest blow dryer stylists in OC! She moves carefully at lightening speed and gets you in and out fast. No one like wasting away in the salon chair and she doesn't let that happen. She also is dependable and always on time. She is beautiful, is always in a pleasant mood and has one hell of a smile. This review is strictly for Darren Reyes. I followed Darren from his previous salon (which I'm going to be nice and not name because I called them to make an appointment with him and they claimed to not know which salon he'd gone to -- HA!). Apparently he just made the change so I got to experience his new digs (sparkling clean; a little hard to find so get there early -- just know you can't see it from the street and it's on the second floor but once you find it you'll never get lost again).

Love this place! I have a semi-short pixie and it is difficult to find someone who understands the color piece and the cut. I found both here!
My color was done by Alesia and it came out beautiful. She talked at length with me about my color and what I wanted for a cut. It was exactly what I wanted. Most colorists try to put a base color on and do the highlights at the same time to save them some time then my hair comes out this awful orange. I usually have to tell the colorist to apply the color separately. I didn't have to say a word! Alesha knew. Amazing!

Brian Aguilar is my go to guy! I have been faithful to him for 5 years now and will not let anyone else cut my hair. He is extremely talented with his cuts and knows how to put the shape and dimension into your hair to make you look A1. I usually give him a general idea of what I want and he always delivers.
In terms of the salon, it's very clean and open. They have a lot of products to choose from. FYI--When entering the address in Google Maps, it might lead you to the movie theater like it led me.... the salon is in a plaza near Muldoon's.

The color was horrible. I asked for a natural looking bronde and it was streaks of highlighter yellow over my natural brown. I think he was in such a hurry that he really over-processed my hair. It was pretty traumatic. I wish he would have just told me he needed to reschedule and taken the time he needed to do a good job. I went to another salon the next day and got a honey-colored gloss to achieve a more natural hair color, but it did not undo the damage of going so light so quickly. Save your money and go to a better salon.
