Definitely not the updated hotel the ad I read said it was, but not a dump by far. Yes, it needs a facelift and just seems “old”. It was the best view on Rehoboth Beach and it was CLEAN. The cleanliness is more important to me during this pandemic. Friendly staff, excellent location and plenty of nearby restaurants within walking distance. It was also off-season so the rates weren’t bad at all. Right on the boardwalk!

My wife and I recently had an overnight stay at the sands. Our room was very spacious and clean. The hotel is centrally located right along the boardwalk making everything accessible. My only complaints were comfortability of the bed and our bathtub had water backing up into it. Other than that our experience at the sands was wonderful. We would stay again in the future

I had a good time at this hotel. It is a little dated and I think my non smoking room had been smoked in before. The bed was very comfy and I liked the fridge and microwave amenities. It is right on the boardwalk and one road over from the main shopping drag which was super convenient. Location, location, location! Though, I wish it had better water pressure and more than one elevator.

This was our second visit in less than 6 months to Rehoboth and we were very disappointed with the last hotel we stayed in so wanted to try somewhere new. We booked an Ambassador Ocean Front King room which was just as we expected. It was lovely. Well appointed and had the promised breathtaking ocean front view. The room is advertised as “Ocean front- no balcony” but there are sliding glass doors and you can step out onto a small balcony. Great location, beautiful beach, right on the boardwalk and within walking distance of a lot of restaurants. But very dated, needs a lot of work. The roof above our balcony was crumbling. I reserved a… beachfront room, but was given a room with a partial view of the beach. The restaurant was not open. Beach chairs and umbrellas were not available as listed on the website.

Not Covid safe! Very uncomfortable for people who are trying to stay safe. A majority of the employees (the people who check you in and the people who cleaned the rooms) wore their masks correctly (covering BOTH their mouths and noses- which is the law in Delaware ). There are signs about masks being required all over the hotel but the employees ignore them, which shows a complete lack of respect for the people they service. I will not recommend or return to the Atlantic Sands!

As a manager in the hospitality industry it makes me very angry that I even have to give this poor review. My husband I came here for a long weekend for his birthday, we stayed from October 30th-November 2nd and at first it was a great experience until we woke up and found our room infested with little black ants. We called the front desk and they sent someone to our room to investigate the situation. Upon arrival to our room the head of housekeeping was shocked at the amount of ants that were in our room. Stayed here for quick 2 night getaway. The location is great, and check-in was super easy. I was happy to get an oceanfront room on the 4th floor, however the room was in need of a deep cleaning. There was a slight musty smell, the chaise had white-ish stains on it (gag), no telling what's in the carpet, and the hanging rack in the closet was visibly dirty. The bathroom is tiny with a low ceiling (I'm tall), noticeably dirty floor tile grout, the toilet tank handle was nearly falling off, and the light switches were grimy. This hotel is completely disgraceful to the word customer service. An early morning break-in to our locked hotel room prompted their general manager named Craig to then call me a liar and that he did not believe this happened. Their staff was helpful but overall their general manager caused me so much grief we called the police to make sure I got… my last night refunded. Beware of bedbugs! We spent our extended Memorial Day weekend here and had an ambassador view room on the third floor, I think (I can't recall which floor) We started getting itchy the second day or so, but didn't think anything of it. Once we got home we noticed we had bites all over our body in lines and clusters. I am writing this review exhausted and disgusted. Staying at this hotel infested our belongings with bed bugs. We spent about $700 for our extended weekend stay and now we are spending $500 on professional pest control for our home. This is after days spent doing ALL the laundry

We had to book this place in Dec/Jan in order to get a spot for early summer (June). Even still it cost us close to $330 for a beach front hotel on the weekend.
The room themselves are okay, a little dated but not completely worn out. Honestly, it was a little better than we expected. So the bads first, the phone didn't work, bathrooms are smaller than we'd like. Over the course of two days we were out for MOST of the morning/day, by the time we got back around 2pm our rooms were STILL not made up, so we had to skip this service for two days and just grab extra towels. Not worth the price!!!! The only good thing about this hotel was the location, right on the boardwalk and one block from the main strip where all the food And shops are, it is about the only good thing I can say for this hotel....oh and that the new part looked like it might have been nice. Sadly I was in the old part of the hotel, which is in desperate need of some paint and carpet updates in the hallways. This would have been excusable had 1) the carpet in my room not been soaking wet (happened to two others attending the wedding and staying at the same hotel) and 2) my fire alarm...and only
