Matthew is a licensed Professional Home Inspector with the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC). He graduated Clemson University with a degree in Construction Science and a concentration in Civil Engineering. He went on to a career in commercial construction, building high rise office buildings, schools, and churches.
After moving to Texas in 2006, Matthew shifted focus and began working with a custom homebuilder, constructing high-end residences in the desirable Lakeway, Spanish Oaks, and Rough Hollow neighborhoods of Austin. During this time, he obtained his licensing and certifications in mold, water, and fire damage inspections and restoration.

We perform a thorough inspection of the interior of your home including electrical, heating, air conditioning, appliances, outlets, and fireplaces. A full review of the roofing, windows, exterior cladding, doors, and attached structures (garages, etc) is executed in meticulous detail. Although not often visible, the current state of the structure is vital to keeping your long-term maintenance costs low.
When you contact Armadillo Home Inspection, we will walk you through the process of the home inspection and answer any questions you may have directly over the phone. We take it from there! We will contact the real estate agents to confirm the time works for the current homeowners, confirm utilities are turned on, and schedule and supervise any specialty inspections.
The cost of the inspection is determined by the size and age of the home along with optional added services (termite inspection, pool inspection, etc). A typical base inspection starts at about $425. Compare this to the cost of an appraiser who charges over $500 for 20 minutes at your home! Matthew Kenny was recommended to me (a buyer) by my wonderful real estate agents Camille Ulmann and Marjet Ulmann. Of course it's Austin and even if this is December, the market is insane and you have to move FAST. I can't praise his responsiveness, professionalism and the level of detail of his reports enough. He was prompt and on time, considerate of the seller's home, and had a great "bedside manner" to put me at ease. I asked for a Wood Destroying Insect inspection as well as the lawn sprinklers inspection, on top of the home inspection.

I don’t leave very many reviews, but Matthew truly deserves 5 stars, so I will take the time to thank him. We needed a home inspection done very quickly. Matthew did do it on short notice, but was even still VERY thorough and complete. After he was done, he took quite a bit of time on the phone with us to explain his findings. His final report was here later that evening and was VERY detailed, and color coded for ease of reading.

Matthew did the inspection of our first home, and we could not have been happier with the experience. We are buyers from out-of-state, and his phone call on-site and extremely detailed report (with lots of photos!) made us feel like we had a complete picture of the condition of the home we were buying. He answered all of our questions with patience and clear explanations, and was communicative, professional, and thorough throughout the process. They performed an inspection of a house we are buying in Steiner Ranch and it was a very complete inspection. Matthew took the time to explain everything in his report, point out where things are, made great suggestions as to what items to fix and suggested maintenance. I would highly recommend.

Matthew is the man! Showed up for our inspection early, completed it in a timely manner, then went step by step through the whole thing with us on a walk-through....as a first-time home buyer, we were nervous and his walk through and explanations sure made us feel at ease. The BEST PART, however, is the handful of follow up questions we've had since our purchase (even some several months later) and he's always helped out with more information. amazing service and super knowledgeable!
