Services
In the early to mid 80's a handful of corporations around the country, began a mission to consolidate as many of the family-owned funeral homes as possible. With the threat of competition no longer an issue, they began charging exorbitant rates and turning the American Funeral Industry into a multi-billion dollar market.
We have a beautiful facility located in the residential district of historical downtown Elgin, Texas. Landscaping and Interior design provides the community with a warm, comfortable home environment to serve families in times of need. Elgin Funeral Home has the capacity to comfortably accommodate 214 people in our chapel for funeral or memorial services.

Dick and Gloria Williams and their two daughters, Linda & Mary Ann moved to Elgin in the mid 60's, when after purchasing a locally-owned Main Street grocery store from Eli & Laverne Aronson.In 1971, they built and operated the Williams Grocery store at the corner of 2nd & Main Streets. In 1985, they co-founded the Elgin Funeral Home with several local business people.

Direct Burial is the minimum requirement for carrying out a Funeral Rite with dignity and compassion. Due to the growing demand for simplicity and natural burials, Elgin Funeral Home has tailored an option to suit those needs.
This charge includes our Professional Services of Funeral Director and Staff at a reduced proportionate rate, Removal of the Deceased from the place of death, temporary shelter of unembalmed remains for up to 48 hours, obtaining necessary authorizations, permits and death certificates, and Bathing/Disinfecting Unembalmed Remains, Use of Facilities and Staff for a Graveside Service.

Direct Cremation charge is all-inclusive, which includes an Alternative Container, our Professional Services of Funeral Director and Staff fee at a reduced proportionate rate, Removal of the Deceased from the place of death, obtaining necessary authorizations, permits and death certificates, transportation to and from the crematorium, and Crematorium Fee.

The owners and staff of Elgin Funeral Home cared for me and my family calmly, warmly, efficiently, and unselfishly. I felt the warmth of their Faith upon our family at every step. They prepared my wife's body for the services and for burial expertly and with kindness. Josh's wise counsel lifted so much of my burden at a time when I greatly needed it. I am forever grateful to everyone there for what they did for me and my family.

I don’t know where to begin. Josh, Jamie, Sophia, and Gwen are an amazing team. When I lost my mother, they took such good care of my father and I. Like many that find themselves in this situation, we were lost on what to do and so worried about missing important details. Even though Josh was feeling unwell himself, he worked tirelessly to make sure everything was perfect. He led us step-by-step through the entire process. I recently lost my mother and was lost on what needed to be done. I contacted Elgin Funeral Home and spoke with Josh. Josh and he family at the Elgin Funeral Home assisted me every step of the way. It seemed they were as much of my family as anyone else. I was blessed to work with such a caring and kind staff. I could not have asked for a better group of people.

What can I say that everyone already knows about Josh. I could not have asked for a more compassionate and caring person than he is. My mothers death was very sudden. Words cannot express how amazing they are! The service held for my Uncle Robert was beautiful , it was as if Josh knew him ! The flowers done by his wife were beautiful & the entire service was amazing! Very family oriented. Took care of our loved one and helped made sure we were knowledgeable of all things taken place. Not a company out to make you spend extra money, they will sit with you and explain services, prices, and help plan a great service all the while respecting your emotions and state of grief.
