Beach Day School

Our mission is to be the finest preschool in the oceanfront community. We are committed to creating a love of learning in children and a servant's heart in a safe and nurturing Christian environment. Our goal is to more than prepare every child to be confident and compassionate, academically prepared and socially aware.

The 2-year-old classes are generally limited to nine children each, and there is a teacher and an assistant in each classroom. Our first priority is to provide our 2-year-olds with a positive first group experience and to help children feel that school is a fun and safe place to be!

We recognize that most 2-year-olds will need time to acclimate to school and that they need loving reassurance that we will take care of them and return them to mommy or daddy at the end of the day.Once they become comfortable at school, they begin a wonderful journey with us! Two-year-olds exhibit mostly parallel play, which means that they will play alongside a peer, but not necessarily interact with that peer.

At Beach Day School we teach students to be good citizens, and to support and serve their communities. Those communities include our families, our friends, neighbors, churches and schools. At Beach Day, we consider ourselves a community. In that spirit, we want to encourage BDS families to support each other, to provide a place to share information, and to get to know one another a little better.

Since 1967, Beach Day School of Virginia Beach, VA has been a place where young preschool age children come to learn and prepare for life in a warm, loving atmosphere. Our mission has been to offer a developmentally appropriate program that promotes the spiritual, social and cognitive growth of each and every child.
