Reiner's Fine Jewelry got its start in New Orleans, Louisiana in the early 1900's. The Reiner's was started and operated by three brothers: Morris, Jacob and Nathan Reiner. While the oldest brother, Morris, kept the original store, the other two would eventually branch out on their own. Jacob decided to stay in New Orleans and founded his own store.

One carat equals to 0.2 grams or 200 milligrams. Carat weight is the prime factor that determines the weight of a diamond. Larger diamonds are undoubtedly costlier. Carat makes expressing diamond weight easier as compared to milligrams. Instead of giving three labels to diamonds weighing 20 milligrams, 211 milligrams and 220 milligrams, carat offers a category for fitting the diamonds in a one category, placing these diamonds in one-carat range.

Highly DO NOT recommend. We went there to try an get my ring sized, we had stopped by several other jewelers in the area but we were trying to get it done as quick as possible other locations were weeks out due to Christmas. We took my ring to this place asking about getting it sized. They told me it couldn't be sized due to the stones, no other place had told us that. This place just basically told us that our ring was too cheap for them to work on. I did my due-diligence/research, and went to a number of locations all over the Houston area (even as far as Texas City). I am so happy i found this place when it came to looking for engagement rings! They were so helpful with everything and really understood what i wanted. I had a vision in my mind of what i was looking for and a certain budget and they were able to get it done within my budget. My husband and I met with Lenny to inquire about the value of my grandmother's jewelry. From the moment we entered we felt a family atmosphere with both the staff and customers as they interacted. The guys at Reiner's are fantastic! They did an outstanding job resizing two of my rings and making an entirely new gold band to replace the one I had lost. They pay attention to detail, have wonderful customer service, and are fair with their pricing. I would 10/10 recommend their services to anyone, no matter the jewelry needs.

This has been my go-to jewelry store the whole time I've lived in Houston, for repairs as well as purchases. Recently, I needed my lapis ring resized. When I picked it up, the stone was GRAY! I was stunned. They were unsympathetic, unapologetic, and rude. They told me it was a 'fake' stone that had been 'painted' blue. I was so upset. I took my ring to Patrick Connor at The Little Watch Shop on Shepherd. He sent it to his gemologist and in a few days, I got back my once-again beautiful BLUE lapis ring. Reiner's has a nice low key atmosphere, great customer service, and fair prices. I came in looking for a ring setting for an emerald cut diamond. Bert showed me what they had in the store, and we discussed making a custom design. He was very pleasant to work with, very patient and accommodating. Ultimately they made a customized setting based on a ring in stock that wasn't quite perfect for me, and they made further small revisions to be sure I was happy with it. I'll be sure to return for other jewelry purchases and repairs.

My now-fiancé and I had a great experience designing my engagement ring with Bert. He was knowledgeable and never pushy, taking time to explain the details to us without rushing us into any decisions. They were able to source lab diamonds for us to review (and ultimately select) within just a couple weeks of our initial visit. After we found the perfect stone, they worked with us on designing the perfect ring. The process of custom designing a ring was easier than expected, and we got plenty of images before giving the go-ahead so we could be sure the design was what we had envisioned.

I walked in to get my engagement ring reshaped and polished. These guys were so kind, and knowledgeable. All other stores were saying I would have to drop it off and would pay hundreds of dollars, but these guys did both services while I was standing there. So quick and so affordable!! There's too much to mention so I'll keep it short. These guys are the go to place for wedding bands in my mind. Let me explain: I'm not rich (yet), and I needed a men's wedding band on the cheap. They were very upfront with me about their high quality products at a more affordable price point. They didn't have my size and the style of a stainless steel wedding band I selected in the store but they ordered it and it arrived in no time. Great customer service. Bought a ring there almost 4 years ago and never had it sized. One of the employees (owner perhaps) has talked me out of getting it sized due to me just having a baby and fluctuating weight changes that accompany that stage of life. My center stone in my wedding band came out at work. I called my insurance company they said pick a company to repair it and we can go from there. I looked up all the diamond repair places, read reviews and was not impressed. Came across Reiner's I give 10 STARS!!!
I called them asked a few questions, the very nice gentlemen said, " just come by when you're ready" and I did. Extremely professional, attentive, timely, phenomenal company! My ring was in on Thursday and I picked it up on Tuesday. My new diamond details were explained so well my 13-year-old understood completely

We came in about a month later with an heirloom ring from my family and worked with Lenny on having it reset with a new custom setting. Lenny listened to everything I was hoping to accomplish and made a beautiful mold so that we could see what the finish product would look like. They worked quickly and efficiently and the finished product
