Beware they say dog friendly but then after check out they will blame your dogs for paint that was already chipped and charge you $200. They will tell you that you signed a paper stating this. Any hotel I have ever stayed put a hold on your card at check in and they tell you about the hold at check in. I tried my best to reason with the owner but he will not budge. I was willing to buy some paint which would be less than $25 but there is no reasoning. This business practice is not good business. We stayed there 3 nights. Instructions said to put dirty towels outside and they would replace. I had

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Meadowlark Motel. We stayed in one of the cottages and loved coming home to a wood burning fire after exploring the Cherokee Reservation and Blue Ridge Parkway. The owner, a Maggie Valley native, has lovingly breathed new life into the motel after taking over ownership from his parents.

I called last week to make reservations, called 3 separate times and each time I was met with no answer or someone who sounded like they were busy with other things.
We have a trip coming up and I hoped to stay somewhere that wasn't a major chain.
I couldn't get rates for my stay and being told "sorry we are understaffed because everyone quit" isn't a good sign.
This place must be under new management who is running it into the ground.

While SOME of the hotel has had some renovation, some has NOT!! We had a cabin which was said to sleep 3. It only had a bed, a sofa, and a chair. They said they could put a toll away bed and would charge for it. After some "negotiation" about how the cabin was listed, they decided to not charge for the roll away.
The cabin was extremely outdated and in DIRE need of cleaning. There was rust in the sink in the kitchen. The glass too kitchen table had crumbs under it that seemed like they had never been cleaned. The floors were really dirty, so much so that I didn't want to step on

Warning! Stay away!
We booked through hotels.com and when arrived the lobby was locked, closed and lights were off. We called number on door for check in and we could not get through. We drove around property and continued to try to get a hold of hotel for over 30 minutes, but no answer. Their phone was disconnected or out of service. We called Hotels.com and they tried calling hotel on their listed number, which was same one we used and same result. We got transfer to another Hotels.com agent and they tried calling also and could not get through. So 3 people on 3 different phones for over 45

I don't know what your experience was while staying at the Meadowlark Motel in Maggie Valley, North Carolina, but our's was great from the time Rachael checked us in until the day we left. Nichole and Amber did an awesome job keeping the room spotlessly clean, the managers were attentive to any repair needs for the room, especially when the smoke detector decided to start beeping and kept us up the entire night. He more than made up for the lack of sleep that night. Not one single employee at Meadowlark was anything less than exemplary in attitude and action.

Let me start by saying it's somewhat my fault for my bad experience with this hotel because I didn't take a key and check the room b4 paying for my reservation. The front desk agent is helpful and curious but would not give a refund as she didn't have the abilities to do so. The room was somewhat clean but very outdated and falling apart. Had to switch rooms due to the ac wouldn't work. Once changing rooms the other ac worked but only kept the room around 75 degrees on high when the outside temp is only around 80 during the day this time of year. The coffee maker was dirty and

My last stay at Meadowlark was disappointing to say the least. So many things really just made the stay less than enjoyable. While I can't really blame them for poor cell phone reception, I can blame them for having poor wifi access. It was awful, I couldn't connect at all during my entire stay. This is the part I will remember the most. Had there been a wifi connection, I could use VoIP to make calls, which would've helped the situation a ton.
The bathroom was less than great. My sink had a problem draining, so it would overfill if you ran it more than a few seconds. I

This is our second visit to maggie valley. A friend recommended this motel. American owned and operated, nice people who went out of their way to help 2 bikers caught in a rainstorm. Clean rooms and great prices. They don't have a restaurant but give you a coupon for 15% off for the restaurant across the street. We will now be stopping here on our next trip to ride in the smokies
