Our school, often referred to as "the Co-op", offers children a creative experience in learning through art, music, science, math, language, reading, writing preparedness, social interactions, educational field trips, large and small motor activities and community involvement. The transition from home to kindergarten is made easier in a warm and caring environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive growth.

As a cooperative preschool we encourage and support your efforts as you take an active role in your child's learning. Our program is organized, administered and operated by parents and teachers. Under the direction of the director and teachers, parents work an average of 1-3 days a month in their child's class and attend class with their Toddler.
Services
Under the auspices of Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District, and through hard work of participating parents and teachers, the school has since taken on projects that were essential to afford necessary educational materials and supplies.

The class enrollment increased to three classes in 1969-70, and in the same year the school sought to expand the children's learning experiences by organizing field trips, building a library collection, providing family fun occasions, and celebrating cultural diversity through world holidays within the classroom.During the summer of 1977, the Co-op moved from its community center facilities to its present home at Freedom Park, Camarillo Airport.
We believe children need the time and freedom to explore and learn in a loving, safe, and stimulating environment. As qualified teachers we intend to provide an environment that will foster the optimum development of the whole child: socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically. A key element to all children's success is their ability to question, explore and make decisions on their own, and to voice their thoughts with confidence.
Our uniqueness grows as we serve the unique needs and desires of our families. Here are a few of our special features and programs we've created over the years to enhance everyone's experience here at PVCOOP. Each year, working together, we create a special book called the ME BOOK for each child. It is different each year but essentially it contains a photo memory of the child's experiences here at the Co-op.

This is the school setting I wish I had found for my oldest child, but didn't exist where we were living at the time. Last year we moved to Camarillo and I was thrilled to find the CoOp for my younger daughter. It's a school unlike any other I've seen. The CoOp is a true work of love by the teachers and the parents. It's about teaching our children to be kind, helpful, and conscientious beings while still learning fundamentals like the ABC/123s, colors, etc. We as parents benefit from watching the teachers in action, learning how to better approach the difficult moments our kids face (learning

I have met a lifelong friend by having my children attend this school (hence 2 stars instead of just one) so I can't say its a total loss, but this past year was not positive and I hope those looking to attend remain aware.
When you attend it is required that you have a job within the school. I was approached with a specific job but I work part time, so my first question was in regards to the time commitment. I was given a very vague description of the job and the actual time needed to be invested. To sum, the job I had ended up being WAY over my head. There was much dissatisfaction with my job
