Since we will not be requiring proof of vaccination, and have some employees who are unable to be vaccinated at this time, we will continue to require that you wear a mask if you choose to enter the building. Masks will be required indoors at all times whether you are vaccinated or not. If you do not want to wear a mask, you may remain outside or in your vehicle.
We will start allowing ONE client inside with a pet. We will continue to have you call or text when you arrive and a staff member will escort you into the hospital. You will immediately be placed in an open exam room. If no exam rooms are open at the time of your appointment, you will be asked to remain in your vehicle until one becomes available.

Welcome to Richmond Veterinary Hospital We know your pet's health is important and we thank you for trusting us to care for them. New clients must call the hospital directly to schedule an appointment. I hereby authorize the veterinarian to examine, prescribe for, and/or treat the above-described pet.
We understand that illness can cause unexpected expenses. We work with two programs that allow you to pay your veterinary bill in installments through them. It is easy to apply online. Whether you use your healthcare credit card to cover your deductible, or to pay for treatments and procedures not covered by insurance, CareCredit helps make the health and wellness treatments and procedures you want possible today.
When your pet comes in for a vaccination, we will perform a physical assessment, checking your dog or cat from nose to tail. We will make sure your pet receives the appropriate vaccinations and preventives. We will then perform a diagnostic workup, which may include blood, fecal, and urine tests to check for parasites and underlying diseases.
Spaying your pet has many benefits. The procedure, which prevents female animals from becoming pregnant and reproducing, can help your dog or cat live a longer, healthier life. Spaying will not change your pet's personality. By spaying your female pet, you're protecting her against potentially deadly diseases, including bacterial infections, reproductive tract diseases, and several types of cancer.

The doctor seems to have good instincts about the animals. I come in thinking one thing and he has a hunch it's something else (and he's right). IDEX blood testing is done onsite with results in minutes, although very expensive. Actual appointment cost is very reasonable. They have decent appointment availability. If you can't find street parking, use the lot for the bank.

Very unpleasant and unwelcoming experience for a new or potential client. I've had pets my entire life and not once did I have to prepay for services that was until I called Richmond veterinary hospital today . The unpleasant person on the phone stated that a prepayment was needed for a visit and expected me to give her my credit card number over the phone. Who does that in 2021?! If I'm not trusted to receive services without prepayment how do you expect me to trust you a person sight unseen with my credit card information? Also, I was not allowed to come make the payment in person. That seems

I dont want to write this but I need to. Richmond Vet, the Dr and the staff are above extraordinary, compassionate, caring. No words could ever truly describe how I feel about them. From day one when DOG came to the office they loved him. They always took care of him, he was an old guy. They would talk to him and give him love. He was never hesitant to go with anyone and was always well behaved with them. And on the last day, they were nothing less than to him. They made arrangements for me and him that unfortunate day. I could actually see emotion from the staff that day. Thank you for making

I took my dog there for semi- emergency care. He had a foxtail embedded in his paw. The communication with the doctor is extremely poor. I was in tears when I dropped my dog off in the morning of surgery last week. I pleaded to meet the doctor (I have NEVER met him). I am new to the area. I was told, due to Covid- he would not meet me. The California mask law was lifted prior to my request, and I would wear a mask anyway. The doctor still NEVER took the time or compassion to come outside to meet with me, despite multiple requests. One staff person was personable and also compassionate. After $800

Take my 2 cats there for routine and urgent care. Very kind and caring staff. We were given very clear & detailed written explanation of treatment cost (both high and low $ range) before recent surgery to extract broken & infected teeth that required anesthesia. Only one vet there though, and only open Monday through Friday.
