Our 17th Street office has been providing quality dental care to the North End Neighborhood and Treasure Valley community for over 35 years.
The practice was started by Dr. Clay Wilcox in the early 1980's. Dr. Andrew Chrisman, joined Dr Wilcox in 1987 and took over the practice in 1988. In 2002 the office was renamed North End Dental and was remodeled to its current, charming, craftsman-style design and expanded to offer more care to the community.

I've used North End Dental since moving to Boise over three years ago. My two most recent appointments have caused me to move elsewhere. Dr. Chrisman had spend considerable time putting a filling in place so no crown would be required. At my next appointment the hygienist prodded the filling and essentially destroyed it. Rather than offering to fix it, North End Dental denied responsibility. As a result, I had to pay $900 for a formerly unneeded crown on the tooth. At the second appointment, the hygienist found a pocket in another area. She recommended that we call in the dentist to take a

This place was amazing before they started caring about money. Everyone was friendly and accommodating and until I fell a little behind on my bill. I never received a reminder call about my bill nor about my future appointment (which I was told I would by my doctor). When I finally called the front desk, I was told I would have to pay my outstanding bill before an appointment could be made — which would have been fine in and of itself had it not been for the condescending tone and had this information been provided OR been reminded of earlier. Not only have I had to wait 2-3 weeks after my due

The three stars are based entirely on the hygienists and dentist (Dr. Chrisman). They are professional and I came away confident that they did a good job. The deficiency in this place is with the front desk person (Dot). When I first inquired about becoming a new patient, I asked that she confirm that North End Dental was in network with my insurance. I was met with resistance and told that I could do that myself. I also received push back when I asked to be mailed a credit card receipt after some dental work. When I left my last appointment, I was told I had to pay a deductible. I double

Maggie did a great job with my cleaning today. Gentle and efficient. Nice pleasant but infrequent conversation. Fine by me...I say, Get it done. Thumbs up.
Dr. Ziegler is nice and explains things well and is not pushy on treatment recommendations.
Dot is always helpful if I need to re-schedule my appointments.

Just had my cleaning done! These people are kind and very gentle! Had a few cavaties taken care of and there was ZERO pain! The ladies are very nice and talk to you while they're working and take their jobs very seriously. Not to mention the area is beautiful and the rooms have lots of Windows and natural light. The best part is you don't need dental insurance to go there.

North End Dental is a wonderful place. I have referred many friends there and their response has always been very positive. I was shocked to read the negative reviews because I have only good things to say about North End Dental. I am a health care professional and give careful scrutiny to the places where I receive my care. I have been a patient at North End Dental for many years. Everyone is friendly and courteous and goes beyond the call of duty in patient care and professionalism. The dental work I have had done is always of excellent quality! I am always pleased when I walk out the door.

Bear in mind that this was just a one-time experience.
Cleaning: the hygienist had a delicate touch, even while flossing (which I wasn't accustomed to with my regular hygienist). Unfortunately upon closer inspection she missed some tartar buildup at the bottom of my two front teeth and around the edges on the back of those teeth. That's never happened to me before. And it wasn't a rush job either. Substandard work.
Filling: Dr. Chrisman has a gregarious personality and effortlessly made conversation with me and made the procedure painless and stress-free.
Service: Dot the receptionist

I spent a lot of time and money here and got no satisfaction. The hygienists are good the female dentist doesn't know what she is doing, the receptionist is in her own fantasy world. do not go here there are plenty of choices around. If you are going to spend money go somewhere that they will appreciate your business.

I've gone here for years and they've done a fantastic job. However my last trip put a sour taste in my mouth. I scheduled an appointment over the phone, and as my appointment date approached they sent me a reminder postcard with the date and time scheduled. I went in for my appointment and they said that I wasn't scheduled (even though I showed them the reminder postcard THEY sent me with my appointment time printed on it). They turned me away and said there was nothing they could do. Frustrating and unprofessional.

Just got my teefers cleaned here. Dr. Chrisman has created an excellent office environment. You can review your records on the screen with the Dr. or hygienist. It's cool to get digital x-rays taken and then have them explained to you right then and there. Dr. Chrisman has always guided me to appropriate care.
