Mundy Funeral Home
The Mundy Funeral Home was founded by William S. Mundy, Sr. in 1948 to provide caring, compassionate and healing experiences for the families of Dunellen and the surrounding towns. His son, William S. Mundy, Jr. has been providing caring service to families and the community since 1959. A lifelong resident of Dunellen, Bill graduated from Dunellen High School in 1954 and attended Albright College.

He married the former Louise Lovi of North Plainfield and together raised two children, William S. Mundy, III and Kathy. Bill has served as Elder and Deacon at the Presbyterian Church and Past President of the Dunellen - Greenbrook Rotary Club. He is also a member of both the N.J. Mayflower Society and the Westfield Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution.
Services
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.
Someone you love has died. You are now faced with the difficult, but important, need to mourn. Mourning is the open expression of your thoughts and feelings regarding the death and the person who died. It is an essential part of healing. The following articles provide many practical suggestions to help you move toward healing in your unique grief journey.
Most of us are not prepared to plan and carry out a funeral ceremony for someone we love. And so much of the information available on this critically important subject fails to focus on what is most important: having a personalized, meaningful funeral that helps families and friends begin the healing process of mourning after the death of someone we love.

I came to the Mundy Funeral Home to arrange services for my mother. Not only was the staff kind and helpful in making the many decisions necessary for services, but they were also incredibly compassionate towards my entire family during this difficult time. Thank you to Bill and all the staff for honoring my mother as she deserved.

My mother recently passed away and I had contacted Mr. Bill Mundy to arrange the funeral service. He and his associate Mr. Thomas Kenny treated me with the utmost respect during this very difficult time. They were very understanding and answered all my questions. Every detail was attended to with such high integrity and care. The funeral home is an old Victorian home consisting of 3 rooms. Only 1 funeral is handled at a time. The atmosphere was a very warm setting vs. a commercial environment. I would highly recommend Mundy Funeral Home.

I've known the Mundy family for almost 40 years and I can tell you that they run a caring family business with the highest integrity. Earlier this year, they handled the services for my father. They covered every detail and made this difficult time for my family as smooth and simple as possible. I wholeheartedly recommend the Mundy funeral home for the arrangements for your loved one.
