We are a small independently owned and operated veterinary hospital, and have been fully accredited for over twenty-five years. We take pride in giving your beloved four legged family member the best care possible. At Ragged Mountain Animal Hospital, we understand the relationship you have with your pet and want to treat them as such.
Dr. Pamela Shapiro is originally from Massachusetts and received her Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2007. She worked as a veterinary technician, for the founder of Ragged Mountain Animal Hospital, Dr. Toby Kimm, for 2 years before starting Veterinary School.
Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately.

Dr. Brooks and his staff are by far the best, most compassionate, and professional veterinary facility I've ever encountered. He is patient, understanding, extremely thorough, and is genuinely concerned for the well-being of your pet. I would not recommend anyone else besides Dr. Brooks and his staff!

I have never reviewed a placed this low, but lack of professionalism and straight up greed run this place. I will not tell you whether or not to take your pet here or somewhere else. But I think Pet owners should be aware if your Love ones have any simphtoms and they deem it not a problem, they shouldn't be prescribing just to justify the visit. unfortunately I couldn't talk the Doctor but the Secretary can used some human relations training! I hope your pets and yourselves get a better treatment than mine!

Good vet but in the last year I've been turned away any time I've called to make any appointment because they are too busy. I've had to change vet completely as a result. My experience: consistently unreliable to get an appointment which unfortunately isnt a great quality for a vet clinic. The few times I have been able to get there were in 2019 and the service was good& recommended. Just beware of lack of availability if you have a needy pet.

I've been bringing my cat to Ragged Mountain for the last 3 or 4 years. During that time I've received great treatment by the staff and Dr Kimm and always recommend people to come. Within the last year there was a change in staff with a new Doctor and a new woman on reception. Dr. Brooks is very kind but the woman on reception not so much. I wanted to bring my cat in because he'd been acting unusual and without my knowledge I was booked for an Urgent Care Exam which costed an extra $100! Mind you over the phone I specifically said this is not an emergency before I booked anything but since they

Ragged Mountain has the best staff around and pricing is so competitive. My husband and I have been taking our pup here for YEARS. We've never lived in the immediate area and recently moved even further up north in CT. However, we refuse to change Vets and are willing to travel over an hour in traffic every time for our visits. Love love love this place!
