Van Craeynest designs and tools reach back to the late 19th century, both in origin and inspiration. Many of the machines and special tooling we use are over 100 years old, however, they are not the reasons for our exquisite work. Brilliance in all artistic endeavors springs from the knowledge of line, form and composition as well as a solid command of the tools and techniques used in working the medium.
Step into the Studio Workshop at Van Craeynest. You have entered a different era where the passing forward of knowledge, skill sensibilities and philosophy becomes embodied in the work, the beautiful objects we produce. Traditions used here thrive through an Old World apprenticeship system. Many of the technologies used to produce Van Craeynest jewels are now dead arts, kept alive only through our tutelage.

My wife and I purchased one of his rings 24+ years ago when Larry was in San Francisco and she still loves it today. Larry was very thoughtful, considerate and patient as we looked at everything he had. He actually took us through a tour of his shop explaining in detail the differences between the old world craft and what they make now in a high volume. The striking process is so much superior to the molding process that the added strength creates a ring that will last a lifetime without showing noticeable wear. My wife ring looks exactly like we purchased it 24+ years ago.

I had fallen in love with the artistry of Vancayenest rings when I saw them in a shop years before I met my husband. When I got engaged I knew I had to find out where they were made! We had my engagement and wedding rings made by Larry Vancrayenest in 2000. Impeccable, and patient service. And, it was such an amazing experience to enter the gallery where these rings are made; to see the artisans at work... I was in awe. All of the tools that are used to make the rings are art pieces themselves. Nothing compares to the rare and almost obsolete craftsmanship that survives within these walls
