Services
Discoveries Preschool and Child Care has been helping children learn, explore, develop, and grow in the Northern Nevada area for more than twenty years. We are a locally owned licensed child care in Washoe County in tune with the needs of the surrounding area. We believe all children are unique, have different strengthens and interests, and learn in different ways.
2 weeks-24 mos: We offer infant care at the highest standard. Learning is a daily activity for baby. We want to make sure that your baby learns in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. We've found our play centered curriculum is the most effective way to help your baby meet their full potential.
CATERPILLARS are our youngest. They are ages 0 to 24 months. This calm yet cheery room is just right for your little bundle of joy. Many different types of play can be found here in our programs such as sensory play like bubbles. Our Circle time curriculum for the Caterpillars consist of singing songs, reading stories for language development, and counting.
Many skills are practiced here in this day care. Vocabulary blossoms. A sensory bin is always a fun way to learn pouring, digging and exploring different media. Some days it is sand and other times pasta. Toilet training is part of the toddler program. We follow parents' guidelines from home to make sure consistency makes this process as smooth as possible.
This preschool class will have new themes weekly starting with learning about ourselves, our strengths and how we learn new things. Routine is important at this age and structure is needed for the developing child. Centers for play keep a Pandas interest and by rotating toys and activities there is always something new to engage the fast paced Pandas.

Forgotten to fed my son lunch when they said a special lunch will be proved to them. To just pack a snack on that certain day. Proved sunblock but kids got fried. They have mixed my account with the ex and messed up the accounting side of it. They will bad mouth you if you address major issues. My kids have been sick a lot there. I understand this may happen as the norm of a preschool, but in the long run way to many times. Lastly communication with staff and parents is horrible. Also son peed his nap mat and was not told that mat needed a wash so he ended up sleeping on the soiled nap mat. I will

I love this place. They do before and after school drop off and pick up from the elementary school and since we have a 3 and 8 year old we only have one place we have to go to drop off or pick up. The prices here are very reasonable. They do lots of activities with the kids (especially off-track). We have had simple mix-ups that were addressed in another review. We share custody and the daycare has been great with understanding the problems that have occurred with that. The staff is very professional at handling these situations they should not be in the middle of (such as the ex calling to try
