Uptown Diamond made the process of buying an engagement ring and wedding bands quick, fun, and simple. Rick took the time to explain the various different variables that go into ring selection and created 3-D CAD and physical models to help select the right rings. We had my 25 year old ring redesigned and reset at Uptown Diamond this month. I'm blown away by how beautifully my new wedding ring it turned out. I brought in a small collection of jewelry, including my original ring/diamond from 1994 and some other pieces along with some photos of my design ideas. Sydney Good was able to take my photos and my pieces and work with the designer to send me some design ideas. The finished product is spectacular. Uptown Diamond is not your typical jewelry store. You just don't go in and pick out the one you want, but rather it will be custom made to your liking! You get to talk to Rick, who is the owner, and also very knowledgeable in jewelry. After agreeing upon the stone and ring, Rick will 3D print the band for you so that you will know what the ring will look like after the stone has been mounted. Rick is the best in the business, hands down. I was originally shopping at an online retailer but decided to look into a jeweler locally. After my first initial consultation with Rick I knew he was the guy to get the job done. Our appointments were mostly at my work lunch time and he was quick, straight to the point, and did everything I could of asked for and more. I am so thankful that Rick was there to help my husband pick out my engagement ring!! After giving my now-husband general hints about what I wanted, Rick helped him design the ring of my dreams! When he proposed, I was so shocked by the ring that I think I forgot to say yes at first. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! Uptown Diamond absolutely knocked it out of the park again. After getting the most amazing engagement ring we had to go back and get our bands done here too. This time round we worked with Rick Atona and he was amazing to work with, completely understood my fiances vision and helped me with my decision on picking my band. Came in here a while back. It's a nice place. Front desk lady was polite and professional. I was there for an engagement ring. I met with Grayland. He was very crass and seemed a little rude at times. It was like he didn't want my business because I wasn't a rich spender. Like I was wasting his time. The price they gave me was way over what other places offered. I ended up going somewhere else and got a diamond that was better and bigger than theirs at a great price. I would not recommend this place based on my experience for your jewelry needs.

When my now husband and I were looking for jewelers to create my dream ring a friend gave me Rick's info and said he was the best. We drove from Austin to Houston to meet with him. I had a very specific ring that I wanted replicated with my own personal specifications. An excellent experience all around. Very friendly staff, and Rick was amazing to work with. Their knowledge of diamonds and ring design was astounding. There was never any feeling of bargaining or backroom car salesman dealings. It was an upfront one on one display of stones and options and no-nonsense pricing. Absolutely no pressure involved. If I wanted a $1 million dollar ring or a $100 ring, Rick assisted in showing me all options and prices.
The custom design process was quick and easy and the wax mold made it great to see the concept and be able to tweak as many times as necessary.

UD custom-made an extremely intricate, highly detailed version of the ring of my fiancee's dreams. We honestly couldn't tell the difference between the version they created and the original designers. They really hit a home run with our experience, our customer service and the creation of our ring. It was a cool experience to be apart of every step of the ring making process
