Worth a stop if you don't mind leaving some change

Came here with family on our final night in Granby. Despite the mixed reviews, we liked it quite a bit!! The server was very kind. The vibe was awesome!! The food was also delicious. It seemed a bit overpriced, but still good nonetheless. Our ratings of each individual plate is listed below:
Calamari (5), ribeye steak (3.8), salmon (4), tuna nachos (4), Moscow mules (3), and pork belly mac&cheese (4).

Fantastic food & drinks!!
Visited with my daughter right before Christmas
Started with mussels with a white wine lemon broth, my daughter ordered a roasted squash dish that was absolutely amazing. She said she had never had anything like it before, with garbanzo, lentils, ancient grains & jack fruit. I ordered the Buffalo short ribs in saffron broth with roasted vegetables. Fantastic good, very good service. My Breckinridge old fashioned was a yummy warm hug for a cold night. Only open Thurs - Sunday - make sure to reserve to ensure you can get it. We will be back! 😃

Delicious food! A little on the pricey side but well worth it for a special occasion. Even throughout the pandemic they’ve been able to provide excellent service and food. They have a constantly rotating menu so there’s always something new to try out. They also have a great cocktail menu and wine list.

Nicely tucked away in the small town of Tabernash not your average tavern. High quality menu with subsequent very high prices. Great small town atmosphere. Next door is a nice antique and old time memorabilia store. Perfect combo for tourists. Covid19 makes it a necessity to call ahead to check current hours and rules.

We had a reservation and experienced some of the most poor service I've encountered in my life. Ignored by host staff initially. We watched our waiter go to the four other occupied tables three or four time before checking on us. Food wasn't exceptional. One of my dishes came out stone cold and I didn't have a chance to tell our server because he never stopped by to ask how our food was. Our beverages were forgotten about with no apology. Save your time and money.

Quite expensive for anything other than appetizers and plain burgers. The food was decent, but for the cost I wanted higher quality. We came with a group and our waitress was not willing to split the bill, but made sure to include a 20% gratuity. As a server myself, I thought that was very interesting.

Decent food, good environment. Food is very pricey for a tavern though. Make sure to make a reservation as well.

We placed a large order for take out. They got everything perfect, even with our alterations (cheese on side, etc...). Everyone ordered something different and it was rave reviews all around. For the vegans in the group it was amazing to have a variety of choices. The vegan crab cakes were amazing along with the beet salad (minus cheese). Highly recommend

The food was delicious!! Amazing flavors I would never have expected while so locked away in the valley. We had just baked a bunch of cookies when we called for our reservation so we weren’t the hungriest but didn’t want to cancel. My grandfather had the calamari and loved every detail. My grandmother had the French onion soup and beet salad, which she enjoyed very much, even commenting that the French onion was exquisite because it was not overly salty like most. The wine they recommended went with it perfectly. I had the Asparagus Bisque and the Caprese Salmon Tartar and loved every bite

Delicious! We started with a pomegranate Moscow Mule and the Brie Baklava, that was so good. Our entrees were amazing! Very filling. Our server, Mary was on it! She got busy quickly and never missed a beat. If you're passing through i would definitely recommend. Maybe check to see if you need a reservation before hand.

First, I must say the food here is excellent! We had the Kung pao calamari, black and bleu steak (cooked perfectly), and their special Chilean sea bass dish (to die for). I only gave 4 stars because I felt Uncomfortable with the proximity of social distancing seating and number of people seated in a room. We were seated upstairs, not a very big room, and there were several tables. There was a table directly to the left of us that I didn't feel was 6 ft away. Every table in our small room was occupied. When we were leaving, there was a room that had a huge party with what appeared to be 20

Delicious menu and great service! Social distancing, reduced numbers of tables, and masks were all enforced! We ate a variety of entrees- mussels, halibut, soup, wedge salad. All well seasoned and delicious. Chocolate cake was incredible! Be sure to make a reservation in advance!

Husband and I had a delicious meal during a holiday week. We made reservations and were seated promptly. The restaurant appears very clean and all table were adequately spaced apart and staff were wearing masks. We found the cocktails on the menu were equally delicious. I had the poke bowl and my husband the southwestern steak. We both enjoyed them immensely. The steak was cooked perfectly. For a fine dining restaurant we thought the food was priced fairly for a mountain town. We would absolutely come back here and dine with them.

Wonderful dinner. Our server was very accommodating and very friendly. We felt very comfortable with the restaurant's COVID practices and distancing. My son's waygu beef was outstanding, my daughter loved the Crazy Asian Chicken wraps with lettuce wraps, my Korean Pork was excellent. And my wife was very happy to find New Zealand lamb burger (we'resure Co lamb is ok but to find lamb from 'back home' is a Kiwi thing). We come to Winter Park quite often so we will be back at the Tabernashfor sure. Cheers !!

We went here with family while we were in Colorado, and we ordered Spicy Mussels, a Lamb Burger, Chilean Sea Bass with Harissa, Steak Zapateca, Beet Cobb Salad, Halibut, and the Vegetable Mac'n'Cheese. The Mac'n'Cheese was underwhelming. The others were fine, but our favorites were the Beet Salad, Steak Zapateca, and Lamb Burger.

Very nice! Good service! Good food.

Started with their Wild Meatball featuring Antelope, Wild Boar and Venison with porcini polenta. Delicious. The meat ball was dense but large and tasty. Polenta was fabulous.

Ordered a halibut special over risotto. One third of the fish was over cooked but the rest was melt in you mouth.

Their pork chop, bone in, with Brazil nuts a jam mixture, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots and broccoleeni was amazing.

Atmosphere was sparse, I think due to social distancing.

Good staff and good food. A nice treat.

We have been to this restaurant some time ago and loved it. We made reservations, and they called day of to confirm. I was told that we had 90 min to eat and we should be on time. I told her that was sort of a rude way to let folks know. She hung up on me....yes , you read that right.
If their food was the best in 100 miles , we would not go there ever again.

Over priced garbage! Keep driving!

Steak was over cooked and dry, creme brûlée was so scorched on top that the creme turned into bread.

Son has a hair in food as well! Good Jesus!! This place failed big time. I don't recommend at all, especially at these prices.

Have been wanting to go for years but it never seemed to be open when we were driving by. Well worth the wait and the food and staff did not disappoint!! Our son is a cook at a high end restaurant in Denver and we cook very well at home too. We were all very impressed. Had crab ceviche, tuna tartare, and calamari apps- all were very well presented and super tasty. Entrees around the table were the scallops, pork, lamb and paella. All were fantastic and picture worthy as well as being delicious. Wanted desert but way too stuffed!

Friendly service, good menu selection, and a nice 'mountain cabiny' atmosphere. I ordered the seafood paella, which was good - but I should have stuck with steak.. I mean, how fresh can seafood be when the nearest airport (let alone ocean) is hours away.

This place definitely has its charm and the waitstaff and hosts genuinely seemed like they appreciated your business and wanted you to have a great experience. You would not expect such level of service in a tiny mountain town which people only pass through because they are on the way somewhere else.

But it's worth a stop and

$50+ for a ribeye, 3 potato wedges, and a small scoop of steamed veggies. If you think this place is good you should check out Texas Roadhouse. The steak is waaaaay better, and affordable, plus way more sides and bread.

Also if you come in a group you have to pay all as one or split the check evenly. So i ordered the steak my buddy got a burger. We couldn't just pay for what we got. We were told they could split it evenly or he could just pay me back later. My meal was $50+ his was $20-$25, and they wanted him to pay $40ish. That is just crazy.

DISAPPOINTING

We've eaten at Tabernash Tavern annually since its opening in 2008, each time leaving happy and impressed, but not this time, not at all.

First off, anyone eating here should always request a table up in the front of the restaurant, not in the back, which is clearly for families with small children. It was noisy and distracting.

Our cocktails were watered-down.

The food, for the most part was okay - not good, just okay. The appetizers were fine (Brussels sprouts and ahi), the steaks (filet) were tender and prepared quite well, but the desserts left an awful lot to be
