This is one of the most unique places I have stayed. Everywhere you look is interesting antiques and wall art. Each room is themed in beautiful ways, and the hallways are filled with ornate mirrors and plush carpeted stairs. We loved staying here and checking out the back patio and garden.

I have to admit I was a bit skeptical at first when I walked in because it is not at all your typical hotel. It's basically a residential townhouse that was converted into a guest hotel. There was no elevator and Although it wasn't ideal carrying 3 bags up to the 3rd floor, once I got there I was quite content. The room was spacious, the bed was huge and it was very unique. The antique decor was charming and it was pretty quiet. It was an easy walk to city center and I managed to find parking right around the corner on the street. One thing I will say was that the hotel was advertised with free

We rented the Skytop room as an overflow during a family vacation. The location could not have been better. Just a 5 min walk from where my grandchildren live. Communication with Barbara and Brittany was excellent and the decor was so charming, reminiscent of a bed and breakfast from long ago with all the antiques. There is a lovely garden that we visited but never really took advantage of that I would highly recommend for drinking your coffee or an evening glass of wine.

UPDATE: unfortunately HBV has a new property management and they will shake you down for every penny they can.
Love it, stayed there every time I visited Philly and suggest it to everyone. I just read the lower reviews out of curiosity and they are all by people who should have stayed at something like a Best Western (Hotel Bella Vista is of course way, way nicer than a Best Western). Obviously if you need handicap accessibility, HBV is not for you. I believe you can stay on the first floor but there's no getting around the short 5 step staircase (typical for the area) to the front door. I absolutely

I wrote a review on booking.com but I wanted to write this one here too. I stayed here for two nights just to get away from things. My stay could have been better. I first room I was in had a pile of crumbling wall on the floor behind the door going into the bedroom. And the wallpaper border is falling off the wall and hanging down. The front door sticks badly I thought I was locked in when leaving at point. I had no tv service the first night and I called the number listed and no one answered at all I finally got a hold of the staff the next morning and she couldn't figure it out so she moved

This was such a fun place to stay. We saw a show New Year's Eve at the Theatre of the Living Arts a few blocks away and decided to stay the night. The price was good and the room was comfortable enough. The owner was super sweet when we met him. The hotel is close enough to public transit and lots of restaurants and stuff, which was nice. We got a SEPTA day pass and just scooted all over the city on trains and buses. The only bad part was that the walls were thin and our upstairs neighbors were extremely drunk and loud. We didn't sleep much as a result. I'd stay here again, but maybe not on a late

Such a quaint adorable bed and breakfast. It was in the best location. We walked most places in 10-25 mins. I felt safe walking at night. They left bake goods for us. Had water and juices in the fridge. I liked that I didn’t have to keep up with the key there was just a code for the front door and our room door. Took off a star for the bed it was uncomfortable my back aches after each night rest. Overall I enjoyed my stay. It was quiet and affordable.

I could not have been happier with the accommodations and service at Bella Vista Bed and Breakfast! The location is within walking distance to all attractions and I felt very safe in the beautiful well kept old neighborhood. The hosts were very accommodating and totally came to my rescue when other plans fell through and I needed a place at the last minute, making a room available to me. The Morning Glory room was very clean and bright and beautiful. Having fruit, cereal, toast, muffins, and coffee right in my room was so very convenient and easy. I would definitely stay there again and wouldn
