We are a nationally sanctioned Judo facility in the beautiful state of Oregon. We are open 7 days a week and offer 20 Judo classes. The club is conveniently located in Northwest Portland just off the 405 freeway at 2335 NW 23rd Place. We have our own parking lot in front and also tons of free parking throughout the area.
We take great pride in keeping our training environment safe, friendly and most importantly. Even if you have never practiced a martial art or participated in any sport for that matter, we warmly welcome you. We can get you started with basic stretching and strength training until you feel ready to try something new.

Services
Provide structure for your child by adding Judo into their routine. Judo differs from many other martial arts because children must work with each other. In Judo your child will learn about cooperation and teamwork while making new friends. It also teaches sportsmanship through fun and friendly competition.
If you are interested in learning Judo, you can't go wrong with Portland Judo. The Senseis are very knowledgeable and always helpful. I think Portland Judo's teachers foster a great environment where everyone helps each other to get better together. The thing that I almost always hear when discussing Judo is, I would love to try Judo but I don't want to get hurt.
What day should I show up for my free trial class? The best days for adults and kids over 13, are Mondays and Wednesdays for the 6:00 PM class. What should I wear? Dress in comfortable workout clothes, preferably without zippers, snaps, or anything else that might damage the mats. Sweatpants or shorts are ideal.

The BEST martial arts school that I've ever been to. It was my sanctuary after long and trying days. I will miss it. When this whole COVID-19 thing is over I HIGHLY recommend that anyone interested in judo, branching out from other martial arts, looking for a new fitness modality, or just looking for a way to blow off steam after a long day, go to… this place. You will work hard, you will sweat, but most of all you will learn. You will learn not just about the rules and mechanics of the sport of judo, but about yourself. Walk through their doors sometime.

Portland Judo demonstrates the essence of inclusion and a welcoming vibe! The instructors are great and make themselves available for questions and concerns you have for your kids or your own training. I can say that training with this community definitely brings me closer to my oldest son and has fostered a common path on the mat. Plus it’s super fun! I encourage everyone to come check out the dojo as see for themselves, you will be stoked you did!

First, the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, and professional.
Second, the instructors are knowledgeable, motivating, patient and quickly recognize that students come from many different backgrounds and taylor instruction to accommodate for those backgrounds.
Third, the classes are equal parts challenging, and incremental. All the while, still… being fun, and varied.
Fourth, the people are incredible. From first time white belt, to 5th degree black belt, everyone has a great attitude that really drives home the family atmosphere at Portland Judo.
