A true health plan starts before an emergency arises. In our experience, regular checkups and screenings can save lives. We encourage you to start your pet on the path to wellness with regular exams at Chisholm Trail Veterinary Clinic of Luling. At our veterinary clinic, every exam is different. We avoid a one-size-fits-all approach and instead customize the exam for your pet's age and health status to create a personalized health plan of action.
Our veterinary clinic would never make a recommendation for your pet if there was risk of safety. While mild reactions occasionally occur in vaccinated dogs and cats, the pros of bolstering your pet's immune system far outweigh the cons. Just like humans, your pet may feel sore at the vaccination site, and they may be lethargic for up to 24 hours after their vaccination.

We are a lot disappointed in the lack of care my wife's Emotional Support Animal "Buddy" received at this location. X-rays and labs that were to take 48 hours. She was told;
"It's either one of two types if pneumonia or cancer, here's some antibiotics, we'll call with lab results, or if these work he should be impoved in 72 hrs".
That left us with a dying dog, no lab results, or clear information to be able to make choices. We have Buddy nearly depleted of Oxygen at 1am on a Sunday morning, and forced to travel to an expensive all night vet clinic in Austin. They indicated his case should have

Very kind compassionate polite And carrying staff. Any and all questions you may have are answered. You feel comfortable and at ease that your friend is being taken care of as if it were their own Friend or pet. They also follow up and check in to see how your little friend is doing. I have used them on and off since 2000 I am grateful they are there for all my little friends.

Dr. Lopez saved our sweet dog's life. We had an emergency situation in which our sweet boy suddenly stopped eating and didn't want to get up. It was after hours and we called our regular vet, who was much less than helpful and wouldn't even give us the name of an ER.He told us to give the dog an aspirin, which it turns out, could have killed him. We then called Chisholm Trail and they could not have been more helpful, giving us names, phone numbers and addresses of 3-4 ERs and said they wouldn't give the aspirin if they were me. It was very late, so we decided to take him to Chisholm Trail first

Dr. Lopez is great and cares for our pets like they are his own. He’s gone out of his way to accommodate our needs and made himself available outside of business hours when an emergency came up with one of our dogs. He’s a newer addition to the team at Chisholm trail and we are so thankful he’s there.

We had to put my 17yo sons 8 year old lab/best friend down 2/12/20. The day before, Dr. Montgomery pulled me aside from my son to tell me our options, none of which were good. He gave me time alone with my son… to explain the options and even took the time to explain the options to my son. My son made the decision to put his best friend down based off his mother and my advice, along with Dr. Montgomerys advice. All my son asked for was to have one more night with his Buddy! Dr. Montgomery has saved my bunny from certain death on more than one occasion. He explained in great detail what he needed me to do as far as treatment. I have gone to specialty vet clinics & have gotten nowhere near the great treatment I received at CTVC. The staff are all sweethearts & always willing to accommodate me!

We had an appointment Friday at our home to put our very large and very old great dane down. Appointment was 4-4:10. They called me at 4:30 to say they were running late and would be leaving in a few minutes. She then asks if I want to pay now??? No. The vet isn’t even here yet. Calls me back at 5:10 to tell me I’ll have to call back Monday and… reschedule. Since I didn’t pay during business hours. Are you kidding me. If you would have shown up on time I could have. Dr. Montgomery and his staff have been taking such great care of my dog Maxine. They are always kind and polite to me as well. It truly makes a big difference!!
He did surgery on Maxine and has been keeping up with her recovery. I have recommended Dr. Montgomery to everyone I know. He is the best vet we have had and I hope he will always be their doctor!
