Entire location is gated, only one way in or out (bad location). Any guests are required to check in with lobby (covid requirements? Even if going to a meeting or going out to dinner with guest.) Really??? The deposit is not placed as a hold, it's literally charged. It's nearly double the amount of my room for 1 night. You sign off on all of that when you book at this particular Red Roof and are told they refund, but could take up to 15 days. The whole experience gave me nausea from coming to grips with the greed, control, and invasion of privacy as leverage for safety. It's just too much.

Average spot to get a good night's sleep. The first room I was given had a leaky faucet the second room bathtub was straight up running while it was off The third room was satisfactory. I needed to contact the front desk so try to use the phone which didn't work in the room.
The saving Grace of this place really is their front desk staff.
And for those concerned with the fact that it is gated That is the standard for hotels in the Albuquerque due to the high population of unhoused people. There are security guards at night and the security cameras are watched by the front desk.

The room was fine, there wasn’t a bunch of noise and it was clean. We needed a place to crash after getting drinks and to let my car charge. They charged a 200$ deposit which is fine if that’s their policy but after security asked my friend if he was looking for our specific room number, it was clear that we were being closely monitored. This made my friend uncomfortable. I’ve never been approached by security like this, I also have never paid a 200$ security deposit on a cheap motel room for one night. I will be following up with my friend to see if he got his deposit back because we left

Ok. Loved that it's more like a motel. Rooms were very clean. Some smelled like smoke. Both slide locks were broken on the rooms I had, but the deadbolts worked. Otherwise, it was completely satisfactory.
The staff, though, is incredible. I watched the desk agent deal with snotty people with so much kindness, patience, and resilience. She really knows how to diffuse a situation, while taking care of everyone.

The staff was great. Rooms were clean. Loved that they were pet friendly. And had cameras to monitor the parking lot. Was surprised to see a fridge and microwave! And AAA friendly. However there's a lot to be said about Albuquerque... I was glad to be out if there! Not a place I want to be at in the night it was hard to feel easy in the night. The hotel has a fenced in lot.
