Easy to find, and friendly staff that go above and beyond. A basic motel that is very clean and the beds are comfortable. I called the manager on our way in from Texas, and she stayed up past midnight to wait for us. On our trip through the US, this place was about $30 cheaper than anywhere else. We stayed for 4 days and didn't have a single problem the entire time. Nothing fancy but all your needs are covered, prices are reasonable and the place is clean.

So... I didn't end up staying here because my brothers remains were once again put on hold due to fact that the hospital had so many deaths to process and so my trip to New Mexico was delayed by a few days. I booked through Hotels.com but I first reached out to the inn and spoke with a male who said he was the manager. I explained my situation and he told me it was up to the agency I booked with to make an exception; so I called Hotels.com they said it's actually at the discretion of the Inn and so she called them and spoke to the same person; well low and behold he said he would still

Good value for the price. Stayed one night. Great, friendly owner who did her best to accommodate us. Pool was not open at this time, but that was find for us. Free breakfast. Some bursts of Noisy cars racing down the street (Route 66) at night, but it did stop after awhile. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper!

Ok place to stay. Staff is Super Friendly. Unfortunately, the street racing goes on and on and on. If it weren't for the LOUD exhausts all night, late night, and then early morning, it would have been a great place to stay. The bed was not very comfortable and the air conditioning barely kept the room cool.
Other than my complaints, the place felt safe.

Yes omg !! I think the owners crest their own post and 4 star lol if I could give zero I would. Bed bugs , room smelled like mold and the supposed bed sheets were stained and mirror had dirt and spider Webb's and roaches all around . They should be ashamed of themselves and we had elderly and disabled family member with us and we felt so uncomfortable and embarrassed. Pay more and get a real 4 star

This awesome boutique hotel checks all the boxes! Clean Comfortable Friendly
The front office lady was truly amazing and did a great job of answering all my questions and proved amazing service! Definitely the best hotel for the price I've stayed on this cross country trip. Would definitely recommend!

We would score the Sandia Peak Inn 4.5 if we could. We wanted to stay at a local place when we found the inn. When I saw the reviews describing it as funky, I was there.
The exterior of the motel is full of personality. Bright colors, fountains, interesting statuary. I loved that. The parking lot has an iron fence all the way around and they close one gate at night which made me feel a little better about our car being there. The grounds were kept up very well. They also have a rosebush which smelled better than anything I smelled at the botanic garden the day before
Because we were staying

I found this place only because it had an electric car charger, but I was thrilled to find myself in a non-chain, fun, and delightful place! It is run by Kay, who has been in the hospitality biz for many decades. She is chatty and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious. When I went to the dining room for breakfast, Kay insisted on making a waffle for me.
Bonus: When you call to book a room, you're not shunted off to some call center. You deal with Kay herself!

We had a decent enough (not terrific, mind you, but decent enough) stay at this motel early on during our recent vacation that we opted to return for another night at the end of the vacation. There are both pluses and minuses to note about staying here, though.
On the plus side, the hotel is run by a warm, friendly proprietor who goes out of her way to make guests feel welcome. The rooms are clean, with a combination of updated features and 1950s/1960s-era roadside kitsch. This property has decorative elements to it that harken back to the days of Historic Route 66, giving it a memorable feel

Okay so I needed to update my review.
So the first time I stayed here I had no problems with the exception of how loud the traffic is when passing the Sandia Peak Inn. This last visit I had though the room was horrible. The water pressure in the shower was the worst, you barely got any water. Then the heater didn't work in our room.
Now I think that it honestly just depends on the room you stay in but the traffic noise is REALLY loud so unless you can sleep through anything it's hard.

Off the old Route 66. Love this place. Clean rooms, very clean bathrooms. Got the queen suite so I could stay on the ground floor. The bathroom had a curved shower rod and nice thick shower curtain and a heat lamp. Microwave and refrigerator.
The windows don't open in the rooms they are sealed shut perhaps for security, but the air conditioner works great.
High quality valet to place your luggage on, huge 70in large screen TV with plenty of satellite channels.
The lady who runs the place Kay is delightful, greets you with a good smile.
Plenty of parking.

I chose Sandia Peak Inn based on Yelp reviews after leaving another motel. The 4.5 overall rating is right on target. Reception was super friendly on the phone and in person. We were given a nice, clean, quiet room. The vintage rehab has been done well. I would consider staying here again. My only complaint is that I was quoted one price on the phone, then charged more upon arrival.
