With over a decade in practice, Psychological Trauma Solutions has seen more than 300 clients from the Prince Georges, Montgomery, Carroll and Howard County area. We are located in Hyattsville, MD. Since opening in 2007, Psychological Trauma Solutions' mission has been to help clients understand the benefits of mental health counseling.
Psychological Trauma Solutions implements effective psychotherapy methods to instil self-understanding among clients, encouraging them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. Treatment is designed for clients from the of age 15 to adulthood. Our services provide a complete assessment of most mental health disorders and unwanted behavior whether they are due to traumatic events or adjudicated decisions through the court.
Client therapy sessions help the client develop positive attitudes towards life's most complex circumstances. Clients with thoughts about harming themselves or someone else, or those who are struggling to function or take care of basic daily needs, can be seen by a mental health professional. If something feels urgent enough for you to warrant seeing a therapist the same day, please contact our office.
Most of our treatment and counseling referrals for this service are usually court ordered. Clients referred to our rehabilitative program are usually reluctant to accept clinical help. We welcome clients to come and try our program's rehabilitative counseling models. You will find that we are open to listening to the circumstances that led up to the offense, and your current level of risk.
Momodu M. Sheku has been treating mental health clients for more than 10 years. He is a member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), Association for Treatment of Sexual Abuser (ATSA), and the American Psychological Association (APA).
Mr. Sheku has a Master Degree in Community Mental Health, and is a Maryland Licensed & Certified Professional Counselor (LCPC) with the Maryland Department of Health & Mental Health Services (DHMH); Also, an approved Sex Offender Counselor for the Department of Public Safety and Correction Services-Parole & Probation/ Community Supervision.
