Considering Aliso has no decent bar or restaurant, Opah is the best there is. Several times I have tried to come in for a night cap and every single time the bar is full (the bar is small) which is fine, but the owner is always taking up real estate at the bar. You would think that if he saw people trying to find a bar seat he would move. You're losing money every time you take up a seat at the bar and it's quite tacky to see an owner belly up at the bar drinking cocktails and working on his laptop. It's not your private clubhouse.

Great service and a nice neighborhood spot that isn't a chain restaurant. But, the food is so average and seems to be getting consistently worse. Everything is overly breaded, seasoned and just not great quality. The chicken milanese is essentially chicken tenders minus the dipping sauce. We tried the halibut special and it was also breaded and like fish and chips minus the tarter. Not sure what's going on but something needs to change in the kitchen at Opah.

First time dinning at this restaurant. We sat inside on a Sunday afternoon. There are provisions for outside seating. The staff was very friendly and the service was excellent. The food was very good and the presentation was awesome. The fresh baked bread was outstanding. If you eat to much of it you won't have room for your entree, however, you're going to find it hard not too. The only suggestion we have is to add more TVs so we can see the game.

Tried their Halibut special and it was delicious. Glad my friend took me out here on a Friday cause I honestly looked past this place for a long time. Tired the bacon-wrapped dates and the Brussell sprouts as well and those were really something special with that sweet Thai chille sauce. Oh! and the bread pudding, so warm and sweet. First time I had ever gone to this restaurant. I loved the environment and look of the inside. I ordered coconut shrimp, bacon dates, and the sweet potato tower. All of the appetizers were amazing! I also got the Maui onion soup which was tasty as well. For my meal, I ordered the beef dip which comes with garlic fries. The fries were to die for! The beef dip... I bit into this huge fat piece which turned me off from eating the rest of it. I looked after my bite and the entire middle was white fat. I got too grossed out. Always a good time in Opah. Food is consistently delicious and they do a great job keeping that way. Maui onion soup is one of the best French onion soups in OC, salads are fresh and full of flavor (chopped seafood salad or the candied salmon salad), and tons of good options for everyone.

The food and service here was incredible. It made me feel like I was back home - from the East Coast. The New England clam chowder is to die for! The best clam chowder I have ever had! I finished off with crème brûlée - I was so happy to find a place that offers this as a dessert. Drinks were beautiful and tasted amazing. They bring in a decent crowd. The atmosphere is excellent. I definitely will be coming back.

I hadn't been here in awhile and had forgotten how good the food is. I had the lamb salad, it was just perfect. We also ordered the halibut, omg 😲 it was awesome.

Wonderful restaurant in a strip plaza with outdoor dining. This was my second or third visit to Opah and we have enjoyed our meal every time.
Today I ordered shrimp tacos, special of the day, and my dining companion had the Chipotle Chicken sandwich.
Both meals were delicious and the lemonade was especially tart and refreshing. The shrimp was lightly dusted and fried crisp with a refreshing slaw served in a corn tortilla that was lightly crisp as well. Outstanding!

We were seated outside on hot burning table but our waiter constantly checked on us to make sure our water cup was full and filled with ice. We ordered the halibut special and the seafood salad. Both were very tasty! Halibut was lightly seasoned and crispy on the outside. And seafood salad had generous amount of protein.

We visited the weekend after Mother's Day because all the fancy restaurants nearby were fully booked and the Opah menu looked promising. My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and we were not disappointed with the food and service. We arrived around 6pm on a Saturday. There aren't many choices in Aliso Viejo so this was a staple. But unfortunately the service is lacking. Maybe it's better inside the restaurant now that they've opened up a bit, but if you are seated outside under the tent on the patio, prepare to be forgotten.
