Bueno Bueno
We started something years ago that we call the family meal, in the Catering Kitchen at our sister restaurant down the street, Sundried Tomato. This meal usually takes place in the late morning and the cuisine is almost always Mexican. Everything is put onto a butcher block table and whoever is around is always welcome.

We started to notice that vendors and sales people alike would start to time their visits around this meal. The food is so good that we always say "Bueno Bueno" Welcome to our restaurant, Bueno Bueno Mexican Kitchen - we hope you enjoy the food as much as we do! Our menu items are authentically prepared by the Chef, we politely request no substitutions.

If you want great Mexican food, look elsewhere.
If you want “better then Taco Bell”Americanized ‘Mexican’ food then this might be your place.
Tacos and the esquites (street corn) were super bland and the prices are a bit high for the quality.
Would not recommend.

Hubs & I certainly weren't overwhelmed with this place. My huevos came with a side of potatoes. They were cold, so I asked for some that were hot. The 2nd batch was the same temp. Kids taco is $5.50, and was literally just meat and a tortilla. No comprende. Hubs burrito was huge, but the cheese inside wasn't melted. Sad to say this was our 1st and last visit.

Was told this place was great, ordered a burrito on my lunch and it was like $17. Mostly lettuce and pico de gallo, hardly any meat, bland salsa. Seems like a nice place to get drinks, but I found their food overpriced and underwhelming. Not worth eating here when there are so many authentic taquerias nearby with better prices and better portions.

Love Bueno Bueno! The Capistrano Bowl is fresh and large enough to share, the taco are all good choices. The breakfast is just okay - skip and order lunch instead.

A tequila bar? Say no more.... The coco slush is something I could drink everyday. All the drinks are amazing.

I'm sorry but I can't give this more than one star. Cold burritos with no flavor. For the price I really expected something special but this can hardly be called Mexican food. Bland, boring, cold, soggy, overpriced and actually kinda gross.

I had a party at SJC venue for my daughter's sweet 16th. Not only were the prices reasonable and the food delicious, but our waitress was phenomenal. She anticipated our needs before we asked and went out of her way to take care of us, a party of almost 20. I just had knee surgery and she could tell I couldn't walk. She even saved our tables while a few of us ran to get gelato next door. She also put my candles on the churro, which was absolutely delicious. I couldn't have done it without her. I forget her name, but please look at your books, give her my praises, and if you can

Recommend by a local bakery, I was not disappointed. I especially liked the fried shrimp tacos, everyone was happy with their order. Cute place.

It doesn't taste like authentic Mexican food. The shrimp taco was okay. Carne asada burrito was not that great. The only flavor available at the time for agua fresca was lime lemon - it is straight up lemonade that is not sweetened. The churro is not cooked inside and the outside of it was soft, unlike a typical churro that's supposed to be crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I told the server that the churros are not cooked and showed it to her. She said it's supposed to be like that. Very disappointed. Nice location tho.

Great location and atmosphere! I had the surf and turf burrito, which was super tasty. Huge portions! The prawn have great flavor, and the carne is not gamey at all. My wife got the carne asada and shrimp tacos, and she loved the batter on the shrimp. The server and bartender were both very friendly, which made this a 5 star experience!

Not sure why people hate the carnitas it was pretty good. Fast service and I like the hotsauce selections they give out.

I won’t even give a 1 star at all. The carnitas is insanely disgusting. Meat is like canned meat, the tacos is so bland! Nachos has no guacamole, I guess you have to order it separately right? Very disappointed for a first visit with all these food. Chips soggy!!!!Even my friend who ordered a chicken and shrimp platter taco said it’s disgusting like its canned chicken with ice cold shrimps. Will never come back..

This is so Americanized "Mexican" food. Bland . The carne asada burrito and calamar tacos were definitely lacking taste. I had a chicken bowl- meh. The only dish that was descent to good, was the queso fundido. So Bueno Bueno, is more like "más o menos".
No offense, but the four stars on here are probably from people that have never had good authentic Mexican food. Just saying.

We’ve been many times and have never reviewed. But our food is always INCREDIBLE. Last night had delicious fish tacos. The guac is insane. My Mexican mojito was fresh and delicious. The chef clearly cares about his food!

Good vibes!!!
Open air, high ceiling, industrial lighting and of course, good food.
This is a good spot to hang out while waiting for the train.

Cute spot located in downtown San Juan Capistrano! Fairly busy when we got there but started to die down around 1 PM. Patio is conveniently located next to the restaurant with plenty of seating. Ordering is easy at the front and then they bring it to your table. The Bueno Bueno burrito was pretty basic but the calamari taco was phenomenal!

Had a pretty great experience here when a buddy and I were vendors at a wedding a block away and needed some lunch! It's got a pretty slick interior and it made me wish we hadnt had grab it to go! I would've loved to eat in there, or on their patio, which if I remember was pretty expansive.

Either way, the food was pretty great! I got two tacos, and the flavors definitely gave me what I had hoped for! My buddy got the breakfast burrito and was equally pleased! I wished the sides had been a little better--the beans didn't have a ton of flavor, which was a bit disappointing. But

Cute little spot a block or two away from Mission San Juan Capistrano. Parking can be a bit tricky, but there are paid options in the lot and a garage. Not terribly busy on a Friday for lunchtime. Order at the counter and they will deliver to your table.

I tried the El Calamar and Tinga de Pollo tacos - both really good! My favorite was the El Calamar. Great crispy texture on the meat, and wonderful flavors. I mean, avocado and pico de gallo - how can you go wrong? The Tinga de Pollo was also very delicious. I thought the caramelized onion and cabbage went really well together.

Service left much

Cute spot. Not far from the mission.

Food was delicious. I had the carne asada taco, the calamari taco, and the shrimp taco. I placed my order 10min before happy hour and the hostess gave me the happy hour deal on the drink. Great margarita.

Knocked off a star because it wasn't very tidy and it took a while to get our food. My friend had to remind them about her drink. The place wasn't dirty, maybe I would say unkempt. They may have been short staffed but still over memorial day weekend I would be a little more prepared.

My boyfriend and I tried this place out while exploring near San Juan Capistrano mission. They had outdoor and indoor seating available with restrooms only available to customers. (We literally watched so many people trying to sneak in to use their restrooms while waiting for our order lolz)

We ended up ordering elote in a cup, chicken mole enchiladas, and fish tacos. We grabbed water from the dispenser near the door to the outside dining area. We got to pick our own table and waited for our food to arrive. Our elote came out first and it tasted good. Then we got to try out our main courses right

Ahhhhhhhhhh mazing!!!!

best queso fundido ever
loads of homemade chips
delicious drinks; seasonal flavors for variety
super healthy options as well as sinful
great outdoor patio

Need I say more?

Why yes, yes I do need to say more because this really doesn't let you know how great the menu is here, it's extra good, doubly good... I'd say it's even bueno bueno!

Uniquely different, yet kinda traditional too. There's everything from tri-colored cauliflower with a yummy teriyaki mango aioli, a burrito bursting with veggies and quinoa, not to mention fantastic looking salads

Extensive menu for a great fast casual restaurant. So many items I want to try. The braised beef was delicious. Lots of tequila options for fresh margaritas. Staff helpful and very friendly. Enjoy the hi-top table seating inside or sit outside on the patio and enjoy the hustle and bustle of San Juan. Will definitely return many times I'm sure.
