Authentic but very underwhelming. The steak, beef tongue, and chicken taco needs more flavor. Put some Goya, Adobe, anything... Also 5 seconds on grill would help to crisp up the tortillas. The meat falls through... As you enter the building there's a visible mouse trap in the walkway. Also a old refrigerator, cobwebs, thick layers of dust, and just overall dingy on the outside heading in. It will take 20 minutes to clean that walkway. Please do it!

We usually come here and tip handsomely. We usually have gathering, but last time it was 3 of us. A family after us got their food first. Even other people were complaining how long the food took. They weren't wrong. And now our circle has pretty much the same experience. Food took over an hour and they kept saying it's going to be a little bit. They are mostly goofing around and laughing, not caring how long the wait is and there's a lot of customers waiting. Then, the food... not even hot. Cold!!! While I previously added the pics of carnitas from the new ownership much has changed. My husband and I frequent the establishment and every visit the service and food has declined. Tonight the waitress was more interested in socializing then accommodating the guests. My steak quesadilla had minimal steak and cheese to the point it didn't even stick together. Out of the 5 pieces only three had steak. My husband ordered two tacos with a side of rice and beans. The rice and beans came out and not the tacos. It took 10 extra minutes to get two tacos of which the waitress knew she was missing

We were served rotten food. The refried beans came out luke warm and sour or fermented tasting. Ordered fajitas that had veggies that tasted rotten. Never again.

Had a super friendly server named Melanie take care of my Wife and I on our visit. We were able to carry some brief conversation with her and it was refreshing; if you come here - ask for Melanie!
The food - 4/5 stars. for the money the food here I'd rate as priced as expected being around ~$14 per adult for most meals. And the taste is awesome. Some small touches that made it feel more authentic to me was the fresh chopped cilantro leaves in the salsa to give it a better flavor and not give the feeling like it just gets dumped out of a bottle of pre-made salsa. Also the Guacamole was very tasty

We have been going to the cactus for at least 15 years. Never had a bad meal or experience. Since they changed people running it this the 2nd time coming and sadly will be our last . We don't mind change but this is not for the best. Food is all different, ordered the steak fajitas and there was no sizzle which is the best part. Staff is over work and everything took forever. Miss the friendly atmosphere. 😪

This place is a find. You want a great atmosphere, lively bar scene, fancy accoutrements? Go somewhere else. You want great authentic Mexican food, attentive friendly service, great price, no wait? This is the place.

The service was amazing, we were checked on continuously. The owner even came over and held a conversation. I had to pork fajita & my fiancé had the porterhouse fajitas both were amazing and filled with flavor! Highly recommend the fried ice cream and caramel cheesecake

Loved it....happens to be close to our condo, but never tried this restaurant before today - and now plan to return regularly. Not only is the food delicious, the service was spectacular! Opens at 4p. Seems to have a very good take out business as well....

The service was very good,. There was live acoustical classic music, which created a very nice atmosphere.The Food, ( fish tacos) was very good, which rounded out the nights experience in a positive way. .

Local resident in nearby Dagsboro and made first visit to Cactus Cafe on 'Good Friday' and was very pleased with "stopping in"! Great ambience and service was 'spot on' and really appreciated how many staff service you so you are not waiting on one Server. Quite the selection and the salsa was the best ever - Entrees were delicious and hot when served - My wife and I will make this a def regular dining spot!!!!!

We stopped at Cactus Cafe this evening on our way back to Virginia via the Eastern Shore Route 113. The eclectic decorations looked equally festive and worn out. The restaurant was empty At 6 pm, except for two men finishing dinner at a corner table. The friendly host/waiter seated us at a high table by a window and brought us ice water. The water tasted like it was straight from the bay; salty with a slight twinge of sewage. So we ordered soft drinks but we could taste the nasty water in the colas as well. This is the best place (Selbyville), I have found for fish tacos! Worth the drive to try the complimentary homemade chips and sauce, great margaritas, sangrias and those fish tacos with their own chipotle mayonnaise! Friendly wait staff, that has always treated us well.

I heard this place was excellent for many years from my relatives and other oc vets. It wasn't until i broke down on my bicycle and the owner picked me and my gf up. An amazing guy and chef. Loved the food and the service. I consider it an oc or fenwick maybe favorite spot.

My husband and I own a vacation place nearby and we try to visit this restaurant several times a year when we are here. Manuel always greets us like we are family and the food is excellent and affordable. Even if you aren't into Mexican food, they have many other alternatives to make you happy. Worth a visit if you're down the shore.

Service: I had to wave down the waitress and say excuse me every time we wanted a drink. She never just asked, even when she was right next to us at another table. Staff was friendly, just not on top of things.

Food: Everything was very bland. Not what you typically think of Mexican food. My wife and I both got 3 different tacos, steak, chorizo, and chicken. The chorizo was basically a smoked sausage with no spice and the steak and chicken was the same bland thing. Had to add a lot of hot sauce to give it some flavor.

The food is AMAZING. The staff are AMAZING. The experience is AMAZING. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. My family and I have been coming here for years and the consistency is flawless. Manuel is a dear man who cares deeply about his customers. And the man can make a mean margarita!

I do not where to start!!!!
The old man (may be the owner) up front is crazy weird. We had nine people (three high chair) to gather and first he said only thing he had available is high table. I was like ok no problem. After we got in we mentioned we need one more chair since there was one chair missing and he rolled his eyes and was like I don't have any table. He was kind of yelling. We would have walked out if it would not be raining outside. The dude is wack!!!!
The other lady walked in and simply just grab a chair and put it next to our table. One star for the service.

Es todos buenos. It's all good! The service and food are outstanding. The prime rib fajita is my favorite.

Pleasantly surprised. Food was good and service was pleasant. Fajitas were fabulous. Kids enjoyed the chicken tacos and grilled chicken with rice.
