Dr. Bueso was born and raised on a small family run farm in rural northern California. Seeking a bigger community, she moved to the Portland metro area in 2008 to attend Pacific University's Dental Hygiene program. After four years of expanded practice in dental hygiene, she met her now husband, Antonio, an Emergency Medicine Physician.
With over two decades of experience, our dental office has offered a wide range of cosmetic dentistry procedures to help enhance the aesthetic of your smile. Genetic or environmental factors can cause wearing, staining or even chipping. Composite (tooth colored) fillings, porcelain crowns, and/or our teeth whitening options can revitalize a smile.

I have been a patient at Powell Dental since 2017. My mouth was a mess, I could not afford dental until I was 30 so…yeah. For years I had collected some awful experiences at dental clinics and I moved to Portland and chose these guys.
My issues included crowding, gum disease, and years of neglect that had me giving the wrong impression and not to mention self esteem issues. Dr. Blair put me in braces and it was rough at times. They got me through.

By far the best denist office I’ve ever been to. I’m now on about my 5th/6th year with Dr. Blair and my favorite dental hygienist Alicia. They go above and beyond to always exceed my expectations. I highly recommend Dr. Vashti Bueso. I have had a change of about 7 Dentists over the past 3 years with a particular Dental company. I will refrain from naming them here. I have been wanting to get away from them for some time but kept needing them for warranty work. I finally came across Dr. Vashti Bueso. Genuinely kind, zero judgment from the office staff AND care team! You can tell Dr Blair is not only an excellent dentist, but a good employer, they all seem to like their jobs and that comes through in the way you are regarded.
He is efficient in his work, takes time to check in and give you breaks during procedures. And sometimes has a great "dad joke" to share!!

I am new to Powell Dental. I called the office and spoke to April about a painful molar that needed a root canal; she scheduled the next available appointment. The pain got exponentially worse and didn't respond to prescription pain medication. Desperate, I called back hours later. Great staff and awesome response to my very strong corn allergy by using allergen-free brush/cleaning paste! Earthpaste is the only brand I've found in stores after years of bad belly within an hour of any corn derivatives but Dr Blair and staff have always tried hard to make sure I'm ok during appointments! I came in a while ago. Everyone seemed friendly, the routine cleaning went well. Then I was ushered into April's office (the finance person). That's when she went over my "care plan" and wanted to know when we could get started on over $4,000 of work that was recommended by Dr. Blair. Three years ago I had a root canal done improperly by Dr. Blair. As x-rays at an endodontist would show, the root was very clearly not filled all the way. After waiting in pain through a 4-day weekend, I came in, waited 20 minutes before Dr. Blair did a quick check and said everything was fine. I asked if he could double check in some way and he insisted it was just inflamed and just needed time to heal. I had the same dentist since I was a child up until a few years ago when he retired. I have seen a few other dentists since then and no one compares to Dr. Blair! He is extremely kind and remembers things about you that you told him a year ago that you wouldn't imagine he'd remember. He always asks how you're doing during your appointment and makes sure if anything is causing pain or bothers you to let him know. He asks multiple times. He's quick and thorough. Great friendly staff, compassionate dental care and each provider takes their time with you. The office has been remodeled in the last year or two and has state of the art equipment. Me teeth don't even feel straight anymore or when they took off my braces. It's kinda like going to an underground Russian dentist. They'll take your money, but won't care about how they work on your teeth. Kinda sloppy at times. Front desk people aren't so friendly either. Kind wished I saved my money I spent on braces and went to another orthodontist.

My wife and I have been coming to Powell Dental for five years and we absolutely love the service we receive here. Everyone is very friendly and makes us feel like we are part of the family. I went to this dentist because it was near to home and on my insurance company's website. I experienced extreme sticker shock. For the last several years under Kaiser they said I was doing good, but here I was given a $2000 list of work to be done. Furthermore, I didn't get my basic cleaning because the exam and xrays took so long.
Staff was very friendly and the office is clean and welcoming. However, this is a dentist who is very aggressive in treatment and who chooses the most expensive treatment options. If that's what you like, go for it. If you are on a budget, look elsewhere

Staff was helpful at first, dental work seemed to go ok overall. So I then recommended Powell Dental to my wife, who unfortunately had a really bad experience with them. She went in for a cleaning, and they tried to talk her into having an expensive procedure done - which she did not need - so they then refused to clean her teeth. She then saw another dentist who cleaned her teeth, and confirmed that she did not need the procedure that Powell Dental was pushing for.

I love these folks. Everyone is always smiling and pleasant and extremely competent, in years having my teeth taken care of here I have had zero unpleasant experiences. Even more importantly, there is no hard sell. I appreciate the "watch and see" approach to old fillings and crowns that don't look so great but also don't really need to be fixed or replaced just yet. When a jagged spot is bugging me, Dr Blair smooths it down. When a filling needs to be replaced, it's done quickly and as pleasantly as possible. Never any problems getting seen when there's a problem

Just met this great staff. Everyone was so sweet and accommodating. I really enjoyed my visit. Dr.Ryan was really professional and seemed to really care about the health of my teeth. I definitely appreciate that. Aliesha was my dental hygienist and she did a fabulous job--even when I was being a baby about the medal grinding tool she waited patiently for me to get my headphones set up.

I'm giving an extra star for dr. Blair and his kindness to work with me for follow ups and a few little price adjustments. He also has great bedside manners. The rest of my experience there was that the reception and billing staff were confusing and even harsh to me at times.
