Services
Steph (she/they) graduated from PCC's Dental Hygiene program in 2010. Her gentle cleanings and calming demeanor are a great comfort for those of us with dental anxiety. She's full of helpful tips for home care and you'll appreciate how she explains the science and technology behind everything we do.
Dr. Zeller is an experienced and compassionate dentist in Portland, Oregon. He goes above and beyond to provide conservative, personalized dental care in a relaxing environment. I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. I went to school in the Midwest as well, I studied business and math at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri then went to dental school at The University of Missouri Kansas City.
Opportunity available for a full-time assistant to join our team. Five Pines has a friendly, down-to-earth vibe and we strive to care for our patients in a positive, comfortable environment. Pay is negotiable and dependent on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, up to 4 weeks PTO, paid holidays, transportation/parking reimbursement and 401k.
Dr. Zeller and the Five Pines team are continuously incorporating the latest technology into our practice. Our advanced equipment means more precise diagnostics and improved efficiency. Dental cone beam computed tomography (CT) is a special type of x-ray that produces 3-D images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and bone in a single scan.
We validate parking for the SW 4th Ave Garage (129 SW 4th Ave) right across the street from our office or the garage underneath the US Bancorp Tower (111 SW 5th Ave - entrance off SW Pine). The Orange, Yellow and Green MAX lines run along 5th and 6th Avenues. Our office is steps away from the SW 5th & Oak Station and easily accessible from the SW 6th & Pine Station.

Today was my first visit to Five Pines dental. It was a great experience.
I could tell when I first called them to schedule the appointment that this was not a stressed out or rushed staff. They also contacted my insurance to confirm what my coverage included. Therefore no surprise co pays.
After I scheduled my appointment, they emailed me the paperwork I would need to complete. I was able to fill these out neatly and quickly. I would not need to complete paperwork at the office. Yay.
The office itself is modern, clean and comfortable. The patient rooms are separated by doors and walls so

10/10! I was nervous to find a new dentist after moving up here, but Stephanie is a wonderful hygienist! Super kind and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. Shana made sure my insurance was good to go prior to the appointment which made it super easy, and Dr. Zeller was very kind as well :) I'm happy to have finally found my Portland dentist!

Five Pines Dental is totally awesome!! I've been going here for a few years now. All of the staff are fun and kind, state of the art equipment, cool chill music, massage chairs with heaters, very very clean, and validated parking in the Portland City Grill building. All good. I have been going to Five Pines Dental since I moved to Portland four years ago and every appointment has been great. I truly hate the dentist (and REALLY fear fillings) and the team has always made every experience relaxing and pain-free. The office is beautiful, always incredibly clean. Dr Zeller is wonderful and my dental hygienist Stephanie is the absolute best. Recommend this place to anyone looking for a new dentist.

I have been a patient at Five Pines since they opened. As the former Facility Manager of Big Pink, I got to know Richie while the clinic was being built out. Richie and his wife are two of the kindest people I have ever met, and they have built a clinic and a team that reflects that kindness. Even though I no longer work downtown, there is no way on earth I would consider another dentist or dental clinic. I look forward to seeing Richie and his team twice a year and I know I am getting exceptionally good care.

Recently moved to Portland so gave Five Pines a shot after a recommendation from a co-worker. The staff were nice and the office is well-decorated. Unfortunately, a good dental office does not rely solely on the presence of massage chairs and friendly staff. I did not have any pain or toothaches prior to coming here, but after a routine cleaning followed by a recommended re-filling, I now have cold sensitivity and pain with chewing in multiple places.

Loved my first visit to this practice! HIGHLY recommend to anxious/nervous patients. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming and explained everything clearly. I saw Stephanie and she is fantastic - all the reviews are spot on! Totally rocks! Plenty of bike parking out front! Also appreciated the HEPA filters and attention to cleanliness during the pandemic. Looking forward to my next visit!

First off, let’s start with the office: beautiful plants, good music, uniquely selected waiting room books, Coava coffee (pre-COVID, of course) and handmade wooden doors crafted by the dentist, himself.
Dr. Z and his staff are incredible and take all the unpleasantly of going to the dentist away. I cannot tell you how assured I feel knowing such an amazing group of people are taking care of my teeth.

I absolutely love this place! From the moment you arrive, the staff makes you feel so welcomed and are super nice. Steph did a phenomenal job with my teeth cleaning and was very conversational. I visited Five Pines 6 months ago for the first time for an appointment and went back today for my check up, and Dr. Zeller recognized me and even remembered where I worked at and asked how I was doing there. He is super friendly and very professional!

Never have dental anxiety again! The clean office is a warm welcome at Five Pines where they even give you coffee while you wait... what other dentist in town would do that? Stephanie is a joy to chat with while her fingers are in your mouth and their office staff is professional and friendly. Dr. Z is knowledgable and efficient, and I always look forward to my next appointment.

The staff and office were very nice. Had a filling that was very painful and was not smooth with vertical ridges and a dropoff at the gumline. I also had a night guard made which took three visits because they used the impressions from a different patient. It seems I'm the only one that has had a problem at Five Pines. :(

Online scheduling and intake forms, text and email reminders, super-friendly personable staff, 360-degree x-rays, actual photos of your teeth (I never knew how much… coffee stained the parts of my teeth that I can't see in the mirror!), easy scheduling and insurance billing done right in the dentist's chair, Coava coffee in a brilliantly stylish waiting room, etc.
I most recently had a filling that chipped off.

Dr. Zeller and his staff have been incredibly kind and patient with an insurance issue I had. They worked with me to get it to a cost I can afford. I'm sad that my current insurance won't let me see him at this… time, but once I get new insurance, this is the first place I am going. This is not to mention the excellent visit I had, where Dr Zeller was extremely professional and kind!
