Every day, millions of men, women, and children across the US suffer from pain and reduced quality of life due to pelvic health conditions. Symptoms can include pelvic and abdominal pain, urinary and bowel issues, sexual and reproductive dysfunction, and back, hip, SI joint, and tailbone/coccyx pain.
At Grace Physical Therapy & Pelvic Health, we seek to restore the body's balance to improve symptoms and reduce the need for medications or surgery. Dr. Erika Grace is passionate about treating the various conditions that are impacted by pelvic dysfunction. In this video she tells how patients and healthcare providers are often unaware of the treatments that exist for challenging pelvic conditions.

Pelvic and abdominal pain can be debilitating are often inter-related with urinary, bowel, and/or sexual or reproductive dysfunction. Tension of spasming of the pelvic floor muscles can be an underlying cause of pelvic or abdominal pain. We are trained in the inter-relationships of the urinary, bowel, reproductive, musculoskeletal, and neuromuscular systems.
Urinary incontinence refers to involuntary leaking of urine from your bladder. Some people leak a small amount of urine when they sneeze, laugh, or cough. Others experience a sudden, strong urge to urinate with difficulty making it to the toilet in time. While many assume they should 'just do Kegels' to address incontinence, in some cases Kegels can make your symptoms worse!
Constipation describes infrequent bowel movements or stool that is difficult to pass. Many people with constipation also complain of gas or bloating. The pelvic floor muscles play a key role in defecation, as they must relax in order for contraction of the abdominal muscles to push stool out.
People who suffer from pelvic floor dysfunction may have difficulty relaxing their pelvic floor muscles, called dyssynergia, and as a result have more difficulty passing stool.People who suffer from fecal incontinence (FI) lack the ability to control defecation. As a result, they experience the involuntary release of bowel contents.

Best part of my week! I highly recommend
Edit: after going to the Dr. Lindsey at Raleigh location for roughly 3 short months, my pelvic floor has tremendously improved in both strength and endurance. Due to my improved pelvic health, I have greater core strength and feel more energized throughout the day.

It’s not an overstatement to say Erika Grace and her PT team gave me my life back. They helped me diagnose, treat, and learn to manage my pelvic floor disfunction with so much compassion for the emotional toll it was taking. Also, her administrative team are some of the nicest and most competent customer service professionals you can hope to work with. Can’t recommend enough!

I can’t thank Ruba and Grace therapy enough for helping me overcome my pelvic floor issues after having my baby. The office staff is super attentive, helpful, and understanding. I always have to bring my baby with me to my treatments and they make me and him feel so special. My therapist Ruba is amazing! She is so easy going (which is a huge plus since my son loves to interrupt therapy time and it can make a mom anxious when someone doesn’t understand) that I don’t get scared or worried bringing my son (hello sky high retention rate). She helps with him and helps me and we still get my therapy

Alexis Spohn has really helped me heal with a chronic pelvic floor injury that I thought I would never overcome. With her treatment, I have healed to where I can teach Pilates again. Alexis is very thoughtful, kind, knowledgeable, and has so many areas of expertise in regarding to rehab for the pelvic floor. I am so happy and relieved to be under Alexis' care and to finally heal. She is amazing!
