Redbud Montessori's mission is to offer children of diverse backgrounds and levels of ability a quality, non-profit, full-day Montessori program in a natural setting, which is integrated with the community, adheres to principles of parent governance and parent/staff involvement, and actively subscribes to the teachings of Maria Montessori.
Redbud Montessori was founded in Davis in 1984 and has been delivering quality Montessori education to preschoolers and kindergartners in our town ever since. The Montessori method, based on careful observation of and respect for the natural development of the child, has been used in schools around the world for over 100 years.

Services
The school was founded by a group of 22 families and 3 staff members who had been together previously in other Montessori schools in Davis and/or Woodland. This group started meeting in the spring of 1984 to discuss the possibility of creating a new Montessori school in Davis, which would be characterized by a unique set of elements.
Redbud Montessori is a five day a week program. Children are eligible for enrollment at two years nine months and potty-trained through six years old (kindergarten). Due to budgetary reasons, all new families are offered full-time enrollment. Full-time enrollment is for the hours of 7:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Children do not have to stay at school for all of this time frame if it is not your desire.
Parent volunteering is a core value of Redbud Montessori. Parents participate in the operation of the school by completing tasks that are directly related to the school program or the school grounds or that provide professional expertise in support of the same. Parents may choose a variety of tasks and several tasks may be shared, as long as you complete the total commitment.

Report
A true Montessori preschool for 3, 4, and 5 year olds. The staff are very dedicated! It's a parent cooperative, so be prepared to volunteer your time. It is on UU church property, so turn in at their sign, park in the gravel lot, and follow the path from the gravel lot, over the bridge, and you're there!
