Tender Learning Care is a privately owned, tuition funded preschool and childcare program, licensed by the state of California. As co-owner with her husband John and director of Tender Learning Care at Stonegate, Shirley Huddleson brings twenty years of experience as a public school teacher, including 13 years in Davis schools, and over 32 years as a preschool owner and director, as well as many unique Davis experiences to our clients.

I attended this center from 2011-2012. I still remember Miss sheiley (Im sorry I do not know how to spell your name) and the long tangents she would go on about her adventures when she was just as young as us. I truely believe that this center has made me a much better person now then any other feasible experiance could ever do. Thank you TLC I truely loved the time I had there. - Bill

Our son went to Tender learning care for 3 months just before he started his kintergarten at public school. Depsite this short stay, tender learning care left a deep impression as an exceptional organization. The founder Shirley is an extremely kind and knowledgeable person. She gradually groomed our son to read/write, and was deeply vested in his learning and ensuring his growth continues in kintergarten. We are truly grateful for that. All teachers in TLC have worked there for 10+ to 20 years, which is unheard of.. they are also very flexible in accomodating needs of parents. Lastly when I asked

My son has been at Tender Learning Care for soon 8 month and he loves it. Can't explain well enough what a wonderful and professional staff they have. Kind and loving to the kids.
Good communications and feedback which I really appreciate and they listen and act on our son's needs.
I wish I could put my second son at this daycare now but he is little too young.

My daughter has been attending TLC for four years and recently left for First Grade. I cannot speak highly enough about this school and their teaching methods. My daughter has an excitement for learning and her reading is beyond 6 years. This skill has helped her feel confident in academics. They also encourage creative play time and I often would find a theater play going on or adventures being created in the structure and sandpit.
