We had a nice stay. Very convenient to walk to downtown. Next time I will bring a coffee maker and coffee for our room. It was not fun waiting for a cup from the coffee shop downstairs. The cashier had an attitude when I didn't tip on a $2.50 order. I don't always feel like it on a poured cup of drip. It's not a cappuccino or latte. It just rubbed me wrong. I found it annoying that she wasted time adding her tip to receipts before serving the next guest. Figure out a new system. Not fast customer service.
The hotel was decked out for the holidays and it was beautiful. The hotel staff were very

Cramped room, cramped bathroom, and everything looks and works like they're hundreds of years old. Bathroom needed cleaning and maintenance. Looks nice on the outside though, and literally a 5 minute walk (if even) to the Springs. Also very close to all of the restaurants and shops in town (just over a small bridge). Customer service..... needed improvement. I've had more friendly experiences in places that cost me half of what a night here cost me. I felt it was also rather rude for them to just slip a bill for me under my door. My card was charged for the pets and parking the morning AFTER I

We ended up at this great historic hotel on short notice. The front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. When we say above and beyond, we mean. They were quick to accommodate us.

The build was build in the 1800s so understandably she has her character and quirks. The rooms are heated from a boiler/radiator system so expect creepy pipes and enjoy it.

Delicious food and cute shops are just over the bridge.

Step out of the box and go enjoy this great hotel.

It was decorated beautifully for the holidays! The bar area wouldn't allow our children to eat in there as the dining room was booked. It was a little difficult for our family to eat dinner in the lobby and they didn't offer food to go so we could go to our room. As hotel guests we didn't think about needing reservations. The hot springs were an additional $200 for 4 people even though our room was for 6. The room was perfect for our families to stay together it had 3 queen size beds. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The shower didn't get hot but was warm enough for a quick shower

A great place if you want to enjoy Glenwood Hot Springs or Iron Mountain Hot Springs! This a historic hotel that was inaugurated in 1893! Many historical figures such as Mayo Brothers, President Roosevelt and Molly Brown visited and stayed at the hotel during their time!!
We stayed there for a night while visiting Glenwood Springs for our Christmas vacation. The entire hotel gives you festival vibes ! They have a good restaurant and cafe! The lady who works at the cafeteria is very nice and makes professional hot chocolates and chai lattes!
Parking- is not free. It is available on the premise

We took the Amtrak train to Glenwood Springs, walked to the Hotel Colorado. The receptionist greeted up as soon as we walked in gave us to the keys to our rooms. The rooms were super cute and charming. We always enjoy the stay at Hotel Colorado, this time was especially nice since they decorated for the holidays.

The service here was phenomenal! Everything we needed was provided, and by the end of our trip half the staff recognized us. We went to dinner at the hotel restaurant, and the second time our waitress remembered what we had ordered last time. Super helpful, and super nice.

Love the outside of the hotel, very beautiful. But that is where the positives stop. The rooms are very pricy for what you get. No coffee makers and very little options in the coffee store, out of most of their food. Constant noise above us, I think it was a small child that was constantly running and jumping. You can hear the room next to you like you are sharing a room. His music, word for word, his TV, and his phone conversation. Feels like I am living in a dorm room. Noisy!!!
Booked an adventure park with them and then they did not have a shuttle to pick us up because they were short handed

AVOID STAYING HERE. Front desk staff and the supervisors are RUDE and condescending, and the place is old and dingy.

They surprised me with a $50 pet fee and put me in a dingy room near an busy and loud elevator. When I asked to switch, two different people told me the hotel was 80% occupied perhaps to infer that my request wouldn't be possible without even looking. When they couldn't find another room (although they did pitch a room with a smaller bed that would have been the same price) i asked how much it would cost to just walk away. The supervisor said $68. I said fine. But then

We always stay at Hotel Colorado when we visit Glenwood Springs. The big hot spring and vapor caves are walkable from here and there's plenty of food options around. I LOVE the aesthetics of this hotel. All the shared areas are beautiful. We like to open a bottle of wine down by one of the fireplaces in the evenings and relax. The staff and service are always outstanding. There's a little coffee shop inside that has amazing specialty drinks. The rooms are dated, but clean and comfortable. I love how the hotel has been preserved in its nearly original state, that's what makes it charming to me personally

Stayed here a few years ago and had a good time. But this time around we booked through Expedia and upon check in we were assigned a ground floor room equipped for the handicapped. The shower was set up for wheelchair access, so no tub. The shower head was on a handle with no place to hang it, so you had to hold it during your entire shower. Since there was no tub, water would go everywhere in the bathroom as it would go under the shower curtain. This resulted in us having to put down towels everywhere to avoid slipping. Not sure why we were given this room. We speculated it was punishment

Such a let down. We stayed here several times when I was younger and was looking forward to a birthday weekend getaway. There is a lot of updating that needs to happen here, especially in the room bathrooms.
The biggest problem was the wedding party that was booked. The staff was unable to keep them under control. Loud heavy drinkers took over all of the common areas and the hotel staff simply closed the bar and restarting early to push them out. That left the rest of the hotel guests without access to food, drinks, and common spaces. If you plan to book here, call and see if they are hosting a

Hmm what to say sheets were clean and that's alway top of my list so check. However, some smaller things that are usually standard were lacking...for example the tv was so so tiny lol and no mini fridge (rip to my delicious leftovers ) also just a very old vibe and feel were present which is cool but also like okay guys we can clean the carpet and repaint. All said is stay here again. :)

We have stayed at this hotel many times. Although it needed work, it was just fine for us until our last stay. I called well in advance, requesting a specific room on the first floor to accommodate my husbands mobility issue when I arrived I was told that there no first floor rooms. The hotel was full. We were assigned the next to farthest room from stairs or elevator. The bed was queen not king. The music outside until after 9 was loud. The desk clerk Mike didn't attempt to make up for the problem. As we left the next morning it was clear many rooms were empty. Not coming back.

It is a charming old grand hotel. The beds and linens are great. But the rooms are awkwardly fitted out with "modern" plumbing. There is one small elevator.

I loved sitting in the courtyard reading!

I was thinking the charm of the place balanced the high price--until I realized there was no complimentary coffee in the morning.

I will never come back. Really? Even Econo-Lodge has free coffee in the morning!

Stayed here in 2018, so it could be improved. But I think folks should know about our experience.

We checked out early in the middle of the night because we found bugs in our room (specifically in the bed) and it was impossible to sleep through the night without getting bitten. There were holes in the screens, so that's probably why.

Like others have said, it general the rooms are in really bad shape. My parents were in the Roosevelt suite and it was gorgeous, we wanted to love our stay. I loved the historic and spooky vibe, and the lobby is gorgeous. But they really need to invest in the

Worst hotel I have ever stayed at.
NEVER STAY AT THE HOTEL COLORADO!!!
The staff has no idea when you ask a question.
the sites say it is air conditioned. They have small wall units that continuously turn off to save energy.
There are almost no outlets. So if you have devices that need power you are screwed!
The toilets downstairs have sensor flushers but they don't flush unless you waive your hand over them. Well, that doesn't work either.
It is old and the comments you see are all NOT TRUE!
It's a shame because it has the potential to be quaint.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. The management is incredibly horrible and rude. It's a very historic hotel with many family memories over the decades. We have had a big family annual gathering at this hotel for literally decades. We booked 6 rooms here back in March 2021 (3 months prior) and paid. We were informed a week prior to our trip that our reservations have been CANCELED because they "overbooked" the hotel. This is undoubtedly because when we booked the price was much lower due to coming out of Covid and they have since realized they can book these rooms to other people at

First off, the decor and just overall look of this hotel is something out of a horror flick. It isn't a negative take, it's just you can tell from all the historical artifacts, stories, artwork around the hotel, that it's one of those historical landmarks. Our room was clean, fresh sheets, and also overlooked the front courtyard. The nice surprise was the jacuzzi in the room that my partner had booked, we really enjoyed having a relaxing bubble bath after our days of sight seeing. I'd post photos of the jacuzzi experience, but that's only for my eyes lol. We couldn&apos

It is, what it is. You have to appreciate the history in this hotel to stay here. I stayed here because it's dog friendly. Had I read about the ghost encounters I may have opted to stay somewhere else. I never experienced anything creepy other than a photo I took down the hallway. It appears there's an orb near the window on the floor... this was on the 4th floor and if you get off the elevator look to the right. Speaking of the elevator it shocked me every time I pressed it! It's a quirky hotel. Love the location and the lobby as well as the courtyard. I'd stay here again.

Visited during Covid. They had mask requirements whenever you were out of your room. It's was beautifully decorated for the holiday season and had a ton of lights! Staff was polite and greeted us whenever we were in the lobby. Our room however was a bit underwhelming. There were 4 of us and we got a room with 3 beds. It was very tight. There was no coffee pot. The doors for the cabinet with the TV did not slide in. Overall there were several cosmetic things that could have been easily fixed (like carpet stains and broken tiles) despite the age of the hotel. My biggest complaint was the towel

The history nerd in me really wants to love this place. The lobby and hallways really bring you back to the turn of the century and you feel like you're experiencing exactly what Teddy Roosevelt and Molly Brown had.

But it also feels like they haven't updated anything since the 80s. The rooms hint at their once-graceful selves, but the reality is that the popcorn ceilings and dingy bathrooms take away from the comfort you're seeking.

My wife called it the ugly cousin of the Stanley Hotel.

The bar area was nice and had fantastic live music one night while we were there. The
