Being kept awake at night by unwanted thoughts and feelings? Perhaps you feel numb or depressed, anxious or overwhelmed? If any of this feels true for you right now, slowing down and listening to yourself can help. And having someone to listen with you can help even more. Your inner wisdom is present, but it may not be immediately available to you.

Depending on the challenges you have faced, your inner wisdom can become hidden. It's not your fault, it's because of the way we were made. Because of the way our minds and bodies have evolved over time, we are susceptible to getting stuck in loops of thinking-stimulating-feelings and feelings-stimulating-thinking.
Services
My mission as a psychotherapist is to help clients bring safe and affectionate attention to whatever needs to be heard in their lives, so they can live with greater resilience and vitality. I offer an affirming presence, an authentic connection and an invitation to a process of discovery. I became interested in helping others in my late teens but took awhile to figure out how to put that interest into practice.
Are you at a crossroads in your life? Do you want to feel more alive, connect with others and heal from past hurts? I can help. I offer a supportive, interactive relationship through which you can connect to yourself and develop the skills you need to bounce back from life's inevitable challenges.
You can leave a message on my confidential voice mail 571-317-0697 or reach me using my contact form. Please include your name, phone number and a convenient time to call. In a 15 minute phone consultation, we can determine whether we are a good fit to work together. Use the scheduler in the right column to book a free consultation.
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a method of working with difficult experiences that incorporates the body's innate healing wisdom. It was developed by Dr. Peter Levine based on his observations that wild animals, though routinely threatened, rarely have symptoms of traumatic stress. These animals use innate mechanisms to regulate and deactivate high levels of arousal associated with their defense and survival.
