Featuring an open-hearth grill, fireplace, baby grand piano with live music on weekends, and three private party rooms, Naughton's Johnson House has been serving as one of Rochester's premier steak houses since 1977. The picturesque, three-story brick building was built by Mr. George Smith in 1885.
During that era, it stood proud and nearly alone on a dusty street. Hitching posts could be seen out front where patient horses were waiting with their buggies. Originally a general store, the building was transformed into a restaurant in 1946, when Hiram and Ruth Johnson secured the area's first "on-premise" liquor license.

Had such an enjoyable experience. Sat at the bar and had drinks. Socialized with bartender (Amber) and owner for a bit before we sat. The owner shared stories about the pictures on wall. Once seated our waitress was very friendly and accomodating. Atmosphere was very relaxing. Food was great as well. Left very relaxed and satisfied with the complete experience. Will definately be back

We just had dinner here for the first time and I could not wait to review it. Clam chowder was excellent. The prime rib was mouthwatering. And the bourbon pecan pie was delicious. The serving staff exceeded… the expectations. Megan was our waitress and she was very attentive! As well everyone else, even by just grabbing an empty dish as they walked by. We had an amazing experience and cannot wait to come back!

A very COZY and dimly lit traditional century style restaurant - This is a very nice restaurant for an intimate dinner for two with the dark woods and brick. They're known for their steaks and seafood plates. It is well worth the price for what they give you, and the quality is fresh. The steaks are seasoned nicely and you have a choice of side dishes. With most of their plates, you get a fresh greens salad with many choices of dressings, a choice of potatoe (fries, baked, or mashed), or a choice of vegetable. I had the garlic mashed potatoes, and it was buttery and not over done with garlic. They
