Lexington KY dentists Larry R. Kopczyk, DMD, Brian K. Vieth, DMD, and Tim J. Majors DMD provide complete dental care including sedation dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, teeth whitening, dental implants, TMJ / TMD treatment, bonding, veneers, crowns, bridges, dentures, fillings, root canal therapy, digital x-rays and much more.
Services
Dr. Larry Kopczyk is a general dentist, and has been a resident of Kentucky since 1969. His family moved here from Illinois after his father was offered a faculty position at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. Dr. Kopczyk comes from a family dental background. His father is a retired Periodontist, and his brother is a practicing dentist in Florida.
I.V. Sedation Dentistry is able to reach out and provide needed dental care to those who otherwise would not receive it. Sedation Dentistry bridges the gap between new technology and patient comfort. After an initial consultation, your Sedation Dentistry appointment will be scheduled. Even though you are not technically asleep, our patients describe the experience as seeming to be asleep.
A smile can be the most eye-catching feature of your face. Even a subtle change can make a big difference in the way you look and feel. New techniques like bleaching, bonding, enamel shaping, veneers, and white fillings allow us to create a beautiful smile with, at times, only minimal changes to existing teeth.
Tooth Whitening is actually a mild bleaching process that restores stained or discolored teeth to a healthy, natural color. Don't be misled by unproven and ineffective over-the-counter whitening solutions. Our office uses an advanced procedure that is only available from your dentist. Accidents - If a tooth has been traumatized, sometimes the nerve will gradually "die", and the tooth becomes dark.
Dental Implants have been used successfully for many years. The implant itself is a post that is surgically placed in the jaw. A prosthesis (artificial tooth or teeth) is then attached to the post. Dental implants involve cooperation between a specialist and our office. The surgical phase of treatment is completed by the specialist, and the restorative phase is completed at our office.

Great dental clinic, and I highly recommend them!! I'm a 'dentist chicken' and Dr.L.Kopczyk and staff are super patient. Dr.K explains all procedures and has a calming chairside presence. He can even make me have a rare giggle while he works, and that says a lot about his demeanor. I have gone to him for many years, and frequently recommend him to friends looking for a dentist. You can't go wrong with this great team.

I enjoyed my first visit to Alumni Dental, only minor issues. The person at the desk seemed frustrated when getting my insurance information. I have normal Delta Dental, but no big deal, we figured it out.
At the appointment, I was told that I needed to specifically schedule my biyearly appointment four months out (they couldn't schedule it that day); I have a little trouble with that because I don't always know what my work schedule will be four months out but more importantly when I was supposed to make my appointment in December, the office was completely closed for Christmas. Me, my husband, and even some members of his family have been going to Alumni Dental for several years. I switched dentists from Doctor Pleasant because of several horrible experiences I had had there. Dr. Vieth has been very understanding and kind with some of my dental concerns and I have never been in pain with any procedures done at Alumni Dental. ( I even needed a crown!) There was once an insurance issue with X-rays but Alumni took care of it for me without any problems. I really appreciate a dental office that listens to me as a person and cares about my safety and comfort. I have very sensitive

Been to a lot of Dental offices as we move about every 2-3 years due to work. This place, the entire staff and Dr Majors are AWESOME. Did I say they are awesome? Truly professional, kind, courteous staff makes you feel comfortable and accepted. I would not go anywhere else, and won’t as long as we are living here.

When I switched insurance, I could not visit the Alumni clinic anymore. As soon as I got an insurance again that they accepted, I tried to make an appointment but it takes months to get in. I was put on a wait list for cancellations but they aren't allowed to tell you how far you are on the list. I worked in a medical office and I would tell you how far you were on a call list. Their wait list could be weeks, could be months. I was hoping to stay in order to establish a consistent relationship for our family but there are too many dentists in town for you to wait when you are experiencing discomfort

I have to say, I have always had a great experience with Dr. Majors and his staff, so it makes me sad that I am leaving this review.
I went for a teeth cleaning in August (which is free under my insurance) and as soon as I sat down, I was told to open my mouth for x-rays. I wasn't asked if I wanted/needed them, so I just assumed it was standard operating procedure. Now I am being billed $55.00 for x-rays because my insurance doesn't cover annual x-rays. I will admit I didn't know how the x-rays were covered, but I assumed the staff checked my insurance and knew what they were doing.

I did my invisalign retainer here and I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Kopczyk and his staff. They are personable, kind and knowledgeable. I refer all my friends and family here and was referred here myself by my aunt when I moved to Lexington. She has been a satisfied patient for more than 20 years!

I have been an Alumni Dental patient for 7 years. The waiting area is spacious. There are magazines, a TV (always on HGTV), and a corner outfitted for kids with toys, books, stuffed animals, and games. The offices are well-equipped, very clean, and modern. There are several dentists at Alumni. I have always seen Dr. Majors and he is great. If you are looking for a dental office in Lexington, I definitely recommend Alumni.

I fractured a tooth and needed a crown placed and I can honestly say that this was the best dental experience I have ever had. Dr. Vieth and his assistant Angela were so friendly and thorough. I experienced no pain or sensitivity during or after the procedure. They use the most up to date technology to create the perfect fit for any dental procedure (in my case, a crown). Whether it be for just a cleaning or any dental work, I would recommend Alumni Dental and Dr. Vieth to anyone looking for a personable, talented, and caring dentist in the Lexington area.
