Services
Geotechnical engineering involves the study and analysis of soil and rock in order to design for the support of new or existing structures or when alterations are necessary to natural or artificial land. Youngdahl has been performing these studies in Northern California since 1984. We strive to strike a balance between our engineering recommendations, risk, and cost to enhance a project's profitability and constructability.
Youngdahl has an experienced team of geoscience professionals including: geologists, hydrogeologists, and engineering geologists. Our team conducts Phase I and II environmental site assessments and geologic mapping. Additionally, we supervise drilling and trenching operations, perform literature research, and study stereoscopic aerial photography.
Youngdahl offers a broad range of environmental geology services. Our environmental professionals, with proven technical expertise and management skills, provide services to a wide range of clients in the areas of environmental site assessment, hydrogeologic investigations, remediation, groundwater resources, and landfill siting, closure, and expansion.
Breaking ground signifies the transition from design to construction. It is also when the Youngdahl project engineer is joined with our earthwork technical staff in a seamless progression as a project transitions into its construction phase. Construction operations further reveals the subsurface conditions and soil engineering properties initially observed during the design phase for the project site.
Our Materials Testing and Special Inspection department is staffed by experienced inspectors and technicians who are certified through various state and national organizations, and who work under the direct supervision of registered professionals. Our staff is certified by the California Division of the State Architect, American Concrete Institute, International Code Council, American Welding Society, and other recognized agencies.
