Services
Established in 1995, Inwood Animal Center has been providing high quality care to cats and dogs in the Inwood area for over 25 years. Though our hospital has changed throughout the years, our desire to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients hasn't. Give us a try for yourself. Interested in learning more about the wonderful people who care for your pet? Get to know them here.
Inwood Animal Center has been providing exceptional veterinary medical care, combined with outstanding boarding and grooming services since 1995. Our goal is to exceed expecations with each and every interaction we have with our valued clients and beloved patients. We focus on providing the highest quality medical and surgical services for your companion animals.
Inwood Animal Center offers preventive care and services for kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs. Bringing your pet to one of our veterinarians for a physical exam is the smartest and easiest way to keep them healthy. Exams allow our veterinarians to detect problems and diseases that might go undiscovered otherwise, including heart murmurs, tumors, enlarged organs, cataracts, ear infections, ear mites, dental disease, skin issues and allergies.
At Inwood Animal Center, our goal is keeping your pet happy and healthy. Thanks to modern diagnostics and our on-site laboratory, we're able to do just that for sick and injured pets. Diagnostic imaging allows us to examine your pet's internal organs and body systems to better diagnose their conditions.
Dental care is an essential part of your pet's overall health. When oral hygiene is neglected, pets can develop dental disease which negatively affects other systems in the body and may lead to tooth loss. A pet's dental health is just as important as their physical health, however, it often goes overlooked.

My dog is afraid of trips to the vet. He's 55 pounds, friendly, never met a stranger. But if you try and force him to do something he panics. Despite being very busy Dr Cohen and her staff took the time to calm his fears and by the time we left he was trying to follow the technician out the door! Before I tried Inwood we tried three other veterinary practices in the area. They looked at him being fearful and immediately tried to muzzle him and manhandle him just to get a blood sample. The vet where I dropped him off to be neutered described treating him as a "rodeo", another body slammed him to

I will NEVER take another animal to Inwood Center again as long as I live!! We have vetted with them for nearly 35 years. But they have become outrageous in their prices and show absolutely NO empathy what-so-ever!!
We had to take Sadie in to be put down today. She was close to death. They said they couldn't do it unless we paid for an exam. Charged us 200+ for putting her down. Then, wouldn't "send her for burial" tomorrow unless we drove back up and paid it in full. Roy wasn't expecting to pay that much at the time. Not one drop of feelings about our dog. All they give

System for appointments / admin is very good, email reminders etc. Staff very nice to my best friend Salute. My vet Dr. Cowen and her assistant were caring, prompt and professional... Inwood Animal Center gets 5 wags from Salute!

The quality and competence has steadily gone downhill in the last few years. I have two dogs and They get mad at me for their mistakes in scheduling. I called several times to correct it. I’ve literally spent thousands of dollars with them and when I try to get answers, I get attitude. I noticed in reading the FB reviews, if the review is not good, you can’t read the comments. It’s a shame that they are so awful and rude now.

Got me in last minute for a pet they'd never seen previously, as our normal dog vet said they had no openings for my very sick baby. The staff was sympathetic and caring of my pet's condition, and of mine. Thank you, Inwood Animal Hospital.

Do not bring your animal here. Signed up for an initial visit. At the time of booking, I was told there was a non refundable deposit if I don't show at the time of my appointment. I showed 10 minutes before my appointment time and called as instructed. We waited in the car for over 20 minutes in 100 degree heat. Watched 2 other animals go in. Called to see what was going on. Front desk stated they would check and call back, no call back. Finally left. Again we waited a total of 30 min after our appointment time with no call from the front desk. When I called, I was old they would not refund the

They love my animals and take such great care of them. I'm always pleased with the service and never feel like I'm being ripped off, which is definitely an experience I've had at other vet offices. The attention to detail and the love given to the animals at Inwood has had me coming back with my animals over the years ❤

Vanellope, ears were hurting her. They work really good with her to calm her, she was very anxious, and really strong. They came up with a back up plan just in case it was needed. I love Inwood, the vets and vet tech's are awesome and really care, thank you for taking such great care with Vanellope

I will never use this place again. They are way too expensive. They leave you on hold forever and still make you sit in the parking lot when there is no reason too. I had to storm into the building in order to cancel the appointment because they kept putting me on hold or hanging up on me and wouldn't let me check in for an appointment I made 3 weeks ago. What did i see when I went in? Multiple people saying you can't go in there.. when I went in, first thing I was yelled at from the lady "GET OUT" none of them wearing masks and no one on the phone. they were standing around.. so why can't I check

Since the practice is having to use "curbside service" I was a little nervous about not being able to accompany my new puppy for his first few visits. As it turned out, I had nothing to worry about. When the tech comes out she makes notes about any concerns you have and any questions you need to ask the doctor. After the exam is done the doctor calls you and goes over everything. All the personnel are completely charmed by Shadow and take great care of him.

Our dog was attacked and needed emergency medical attention. I called several times on our frantic route to the office to make sure we didn't need to just take our fur baby to Winchester facility and no one answered. Upon arrival they brought her back and advised that we try to put a muzzle on her since she was apprehensive and scared. She was just mauled in the neck and head! Quickly looking at the extent of her injuries were told she would need to be sedated but that they closed at a certain time?!! I do not recommend bringing your loved ones here because they obviously only care about

I will NEVER take my dog back to this place again. I called this morning because my dog CAN'T BREATHE and they told me that they could not see her that they were too busy. Yea they told me to take her to the Emergency Vet but for someone who is on a fixed income, that just isn't an option. I had been taking my dog here for years and they couldn't see my possibly dying dog? UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!! Went to another vet today who would see me and they told me it was a good thing I brought her because if I would have waited any longer she would have been dead.

I recently posted a negative review of my experience with them discarding my pet carrier without notifying me. I did receive a call from their office manager, Dawn, who was very apologetic and actually compensated me for the carrier. She handled it very professionaly. I guess I should have given them some time to work out a solution before being so quick to condem.

I have read the reviews others have put on here to include old and new and I just don't see it with my experiences. I have been going here for three years and have not once had a bad experience. Friendly staff to include the doctors and nurses. I give them four stars only because the expense of yearly vaccines and such is outrageous.

I grew up around a lot of animals and understand that some folks are fanatical about their pets. Meaning it's not unheard of to take your horse to a spa and spend $1000 in an afternoon, so it can get a massage, hydrotherapy and a pedicure. I am no

Do not take your animal here. I brought my beautiful boy here and over two weeks their poor diagnostic skills cost me 1500 and my son had to be put to sleep. One of the vets even falsified his records to justify poor care. If you love your pet, go somewhere else and don't have my experience.

I have taken my sweet little dog here a couple times and each time they seem to get even more rude (if thats possible)!!! Simple questions I ask and in return... attitude!! So its my turn. I am letting you all know that if you take your animal here, ask questions about everything, ask about follow ups and how much all this will be. I had told them that it was hard for me to give my dog her pill for the first week, I had asked the first lady when getting this medication if there was another form of meds other than pills. She says " No, just open the dogs mouth and push the pill down her throat
