At Castro Valley Animal Hospital, we offer internal medicine for pets. These services focus on the diagnoses, control and treatment of diseases in the internal organs of pets. Our veterinary internal medicine specialists have diversified experience in handling all the internal organs of animals. These experts are also referred to as internists and they use non-invasive techniques to diagnose and treat various conditions and ailments in animals.
All pets should wear some form of identification tag at all times. The tag must include a contact number and probably the name if the pet. A proper identification tag can become your pet's ticket home if she or he gets lost. Microchips offer an extra level of protection if your pet gets separated from his or her tag and collar.
If your pet is going through severe pain, perhaps caused by kidney stones or some form of internal bleeding, an ultrasound would be one of the things your veterinarian would recommend. Ultrasound machines use ultrasonic vibrations to provide vital information about internal organs. Many veterinary facilities are not equipped with an in-house ultrasound machine.
Is your dog healthy? According to AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association), dogs, cats, and other pets should get a medical examination at least once every year. Beyond vaccinations and flea treatments, your pet needs regular checkups, and that means regular visits to the veterinarian. Are you sure your pet is healthy?
