Dr. Alexa F. Budde received her Bachelor of Science in para veterinary science from the University of California, Davis in 1974 and her D.V.M. degree in 1978. Since 1989, Dr. Budde has been owner and chief clinician of Alta Vista Veterinary Clinic in Hayward, Calif. She has previously worked as head ER doctor at a five-doctor practice in San Jose.
She is past president of the Alameda County Chapter of the California Veterinary Medical Association. In her spare time, she takes care of her horses and likes to spend time with her two daughters. I graduated from school 10 years ago and have been working with animals ever since. Being a licensed technician brings me a lot of joy from working with the animals to teaching the clients new things.

We provide quality care through a full range of services and technology. Our facility is state-of-the-art with sophisticated diagnostic and surgical equipment. The hospital is open, light and roomy to make clients and pets as comfortable as possible. Although, a few weeks before the holidays is a bit late for these cold and rainy days- its better then the drastic alternative.
I must admit, life becomes a tad more difficult when you have three small dogs who have no interest in getting their paws wet when it comes time to go potty- a romp around in the mud is no issue of course but when Mom is in a hurry or there is just no way we can make it out for a long walk or hike then I get these sad, faces looking up at me with very little intention of getting any business done.

I took my dog here twice for a cherry eye surgury and the two times it never looked done right it looked like they just did it in a hurry because the next day or two it was right back up I know it can come back but it can not just come back the next day or two it never looked like they put it all the wat in it’s spot and if I knew he didn’t know how to do it I would have never brought her to that vet she is now blind barley turned one not that long ago now she is blind from one eye . If you dog has a cherry eye do not bring her to this vet pay more in another place or do research on places

Dr. Budde is an outstanding Veterinarian. Her staff is incredible too. Great handlers of all pets and they really love your pets. I highly recommend Alta Vista, especially if you live in Hayward. As for customer service, excellent and Dr. Budde's staff are bilingual, with high levels of culturally proficiency. Highly recommended.

We took both our pet puppies here for a spay and neuter just yesterday and they entire process was simple from the scheduling to the after surgery instructions. The entire staff was knowledgeable and helped with the process. A very professional environment from start to finish. I highly recommend Alta Vista Veterinary Clinic for all your pet needs.

Due to the current situation of pandemic, making appointments for your pets is a bit challenging but not impossible if you have time and patience to fit in the schedule. Staff answers the call quite quickly and if not they'll place you in a brief hold. Overall, amazing working staff to assist you with questions or concerns. It's a bit tight when there's full house of clients. You'll have to wait in your car until they come and personally get you.
